Thank you for an attractive and informative review. I am looking at the Pilot bag as a potential messenger+camera bag and find your presentation very helpful, especially the features comparison. Mahalo!

We are very pleased with the Pilot bags. Great choice to carry fragile items like camera and video equipments. As a messenger bag, you may want to favour the larger 10L one.

Wonderful video. I use Carradice camper longflap saddle bag 24L and city folder m 25L frame extra but the city folder m is one of the first Brompton bags and still in production.

That is a great set-up, giving you up to 50L of luggage capability! Carradice are more difficult to find in Canada.

SUGGESTION: You might want to check out Ibera's Mini Commuter Bicycle Carrier Rack. I had it on my trail bike and discovered that it mounts perfectly on the seat post of my Brompton. Its light, inexpensive ($30), and easy to attach or detach. Even more important, it gets you into Ibera's extensive set of quick-release bike bags, bags that cost less than their Brompton equivalents.

thanks for this video, so few reviews of this bag available. well done. just one question, how easy is it to remove the brompton frame in case i might want to use it as a straight up messenger bag?
@2Bikes4Adventure Жыл бұрын
Occasionally removing/reinstalling the frame is a relatively easy task. We would not however recommend to do it on a daily basis as the frame buckles locking mechanism (similar to the one shown at 8:07) doesn’t seem to be designed for multiple opening/closing

@@2Bikes4Adventure Thank you so much for the quick reply. Gives me something to think, either go for this one or the regular pilot 7L. decisions, decisions ;)

What a cool design. Thanks for the video. How fast / difficult is it to take the frame out of the bag. Is it practical to leave the frame on the bike while carrying the bag around for less weight and more comfort?
@2Bikes4Adventure3 жыл бұрын
Unlike most other Brompton bags that use velcro to secure the frame in position, the Pilot use two plastic friction buckles (visible at 04:33). If you were planning to remove/re-install the frame often, I would suggest you cut (in diagonal) the last 5mm of each straps. This would eliminate the double-thickness extremities of the straps and make it a lot easier to insert/remove from the buckles. Once this is done, removing/installing the frame should be a question of a few seconds.

You didn’t call it out, but is the only difference between the 7L and 10L size?
@2Bikes4Adventure2 жыл бұрын
Except for volume, support frame and internal dividers dimensions, all other features are identical (attach points, internal and external pockets, zippers, microfiber lining,…).

Between the 7L Pilot and the mini-o bag, which would you actually recommend?
@2Bikes4Adventure3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Despite having a similar volume, the Pilot is more versatile and expandable (could slide a light jacket in the front horizontal opening, carry water bottle and cellphone in add-on modules and still have the entire main compartment available for other stuff) The Pilot is easier/more confortable to carry off the bike (better shoulder strap, less obstructive mounting bracket, possibility to carry each module individually). Removing/installing the shoulder strap is easier on the O-Bag however. If you plan to carry camera equipment (or similarly fragile equipment), the protection offered by the Pilot is superior. If you need to cycle often in heavy rain conditions, the O-Bag offer a better protection. Adding a rain cover to the Pilot should be considered. All-in-all, O-Bag win in waterproofness and pretty much loose in all other aspects. Personally, I own a full size O-bag and would NOT buy a mini O-bag (and would favour a (khaki) 7L Pilot instead). Note: Price could also be an issue depending on local availability and/or tax/duty regulations.

I almost ordered this bag until I got to the checkout part and read this: When choosing Regular Express or DHL for your shipping method means that you understand and agree that by choosing any options with "No signature required" when DHL sends you a notice, WOTANCRAFT will NOT be able to take responsibility if the package is lost during the delivery process. There was no other option to choose.
@2Bikes4Adventure2 жыл бұрын
It is DHL (not Wotancraft) that will offer the “Contactlesss/No signature” option when your package is about to arrive. This is when you have the option to accept (or refuse). Personally, we never waived the signature. In some occasions, this meant we had to go to the nearest DHL office to pick up the package, when we were not at home during initial delivery.
