Only 36 players in the NBA are either his size or smaller. And his decision making, play reading, positionning, fundamentals and overall effort are not good. These are things he should know by now. The quality and speed would obviously improve with experience but he should already be a decently strategic player and he is not. It honestly seems like he isn't very 'basketball' smart which is a huge problem for a defensive guard.

Well, there's history and there's history. Every single second in any person's life becomes history the moment the next second arrives. I brushed my teeth two minutes ago and that is now a part of history. But no one cares because it's irrelevant and unimportant (except to my dental health). If dad was still viable at his age, and if the kid were legitimate young player this would have been memorable history (aka Ken and Junior Griffey). Instead, daddy's little boy couldn't get off the bench at a mediocre Pac-12 school and did nothing the occasions he did. He wasn't good enough to be an unsigned free agent, let alone get drafted, then MAKE the Lakers' roster after a disastrous preseason. But here we are. History?
