Honey- you don’t get the song you WANT, you get the song you NEED. Things come into your life for a reason. Just be open like you have been. One day, you need a good cry and you’ll remember this song and listen to it over and over to get it out. I was coming back from ovarian cancer and I read book after book that made me cry. Because I needed it. It was a purge. In the words of Dolly Parton in Steel Magnolias, “Laughter through tears is my FAVorite emotion.” Listen to Forever Country by Artists of then , now and Forever.

This song makes me cry also and every time I listen to this it makes me to get to heaven even faster so I can be with my uncles and my papa again. And it makes me sad to know that a dream I had was me after I had died and was walking to this big beautiful gate with all these beautiful flowers and plants going down beside the path and I gate to the gates and I saw my family on the other side of the gate and I went to run to them but it's like there was a wall in between and i could see them and they could see me but i couldn't get to them and i couldn't go into heaven. And i walked back away from them and went off to the side and fell to my knees crying out and I could hear my mom screaming for people to pray for me. And while I was on my knees I felt someone grab my hand and I looked up and saw a man who was just beautiful and I believe it was jesus praying with me trying to save me after I couldn't go into heaven. But I have had people tell me that the dream was that I died and he there to give me life again so I could finish what he put me on this earth to do.

Sometimes it’s all about timing. I found country when the time was right for me and you have the heart and feelings on your sleeve temperament which’ll make country speak to your heart and pull you right into the lyrics and emotions they evoke. I’m 45 now and got into country in 1993 when I was 24. I was driving and was just in the frame of mind to get lost in a song and the right one came on (All These Years by Sawyer Brown) and it stayed in my ears, my mind, and in my heart for days afterward until I had to buy the CD. That’s how it started for me. Glad you like how country songs paint a vivid picture and that each one is its own story. Please review/react to Alyssa Lies by Jason Michael Carroll, All These Years by Sawyer Brown, Not That Different by Collin Raye, ‘Til I Was A Daddy Too by Tracy Lawrence, Remember When by Alan Jackson, Just A Dream by Carrie Underwood, Don’t Take The Girl by Tim McGraw, Matches by Sammy Kershaw, Strong Enough To Say No by Blackhawk, and I Still Believe In You by Vince Gill!!! That, my friend, would give you a nice look at how great country music was in the 90s (the best decade for this genre).

This song is based on a true relationship. I love that the video shows the old man like a grandpa figure to the young boy and how much the relationship meant to the boy. I love the lyrics "I'm finding more and more truth to the words written in red(Jesus' words in many bibles)" also the photo at the very end is of the little boy and the old man sitting in the swing. You might consider many country songs that have amazing messages and great storytelling. Three wooden crosses or If heaven wasn't so far away.

I have always felt that this song was filled with hope. A young boy becomes friends with a old man, there is no regard for race, his family were friends & they shared things back & forth. This old man shared his faith & built that faith in this young man. He learned truth in a vital way, maybe more than you could in church. It shows me that relationships are important & we have so much impact on each other. And this was a real experience for Ronnie Dunn.

Elders are visionary, their insights, wisdom and knowledge are impeccable and exemplary. They shouted to the mountains and sea guided by their faith and dreams, their paths are meant to follow. You're looking to your soul for references by experiences and presence that's touched by multiple thoughts, mentors and memories. Recognize the "Circle of Life" as American Indians observe, there's Beauty before us, Beauty besides us, beauty behind us, beauty beneath us, beauty above us and Beauty all around us.
