Used the same kit to repair my windshield last year from a small stone chip that annoyingly kept catching the sunlight and was distracting. While I still see it in certain lights, it is about 90% better, and has held up well. Worth doing IMHO.

Oh nice! I used this on quite a few little chips and it really does well filling them in to make them much less noticeable. If it was a deep chip that was cracking I'd use the syringe it comes with. But little chips, just a dab of the resin solves it well!

Cheers for this. The Audi dealer has been doing mine since I got my 2017 since it had AudiCare, but that ended last year, so this was my first. Same extractor but I probably should have gone with the 8 liter instead of the 5.3 as the engine capacity is 5.7 and I got 5.6 out. Used the 5W-40 castrol edge Euro car full synthetic and the Fram FE11784 filter. Everything seems well and VCDS isn’t complaining. You may have found this, but the oil change trip in MMI sadly isn’t enough to stop annual warnings as you have to either get the dealer or VCDS to clear them properly - especially if you live in a state that doesn’t have annual emissions inspections.

Really like this extraction method. I'll definitely try that out. Thanks for sharing! Not sure if im patient enough to wait for it but its definitely worth trying for 60 dollars

I got a ESC Tuning oil extractor and it works about 3× faster then the one he used in the video. It's a 6.5L container too. It has a few different attachments that it comes with so you can use it on multiple vehicles. If you do get one, I suggest going with the ECS!

I roll my Datsun out of the garage and push it back in for similar reasons! I don't want the glass pack mufflers to prematurely rust out from condensation left from the cold exhaust pipe.

Oh nice! Makes it easy. In college when it was winter I’d drive my car 1 mile to campus. Those cold starts made my oil catch cans fill up with water. So I really only like starting a car if it will end up getting driven.

Thats a first gen s3 right? Damn that's some nice way to extract the oil. No ramps, going under and all that stuff. Really usefull for DIY.

Yeah 2016 is the second year. Honestly I sold the extractor after this. Takes way more time waiting for it to suck out all the oil. Unless you have physical limitations, it's much quicker to just drive up on some 2x4's and pull the plug

I never did breaks on this car. Most I've done was bread the breaks on my Lambo once. I'm sure there are plenty of videos on how to do that

Mann Filters manufacture the OE filters for VW Audi, so essentially you are using a rebadged OE part.

These engines are designed for extraction. That is even the method used in the dealership. 5.3L cannot be right, the block capacity is 5.7L and that's what I got out when I used my extractor.
@BrosFOURRSpeed
@BrosFOURRSpeed 8 ай бұрын
I got out the correct amount for this engine. However I sold the extractor. Takes forever to get it all out. Much easier to just drain the plug

Probably close enough. I think there were a few weights that were ok for the car

The oil extractor seems to be a short cut to an oil change. I rather spend the extra time and do it properly.

It gets every bit out just fine. However I sold the extractor. Takes wayyy too much time. Much easier to just jack up the car and drain it.

This got out all the oil tho. Works fine. However I sold the extractor and went back to just draining it like normal. Took way too much time extracting the oil. Still a perfectly fine way to do it tho

So you think Motul 300V 10W-40 has the same additive package as Supertech 10W-40?
@BrosFOURRSpeed
@BrosFOURRSpeed Жыл бұрын
@@robertslegers257 Obviously those would have different additives. However when looking at the name brands, it really won’t make a difference. Royal Purple, Valvoline, Mobil1, Motul, Penzoil, etc… People who say one is better then the other. You won’t notice any difference in the car. Use synthetic and the correct weight for your car. And you’ll be good. Oils all have to comply to certain standards. So even the cheap stuff is actually fine for generic cars.

idling for 30 seconds is not time enough to sufficiently thin the oil to drain properly. that said, you're using the extraction method which leaves plenty of used oil in the engine anyway so i guess it doesn't matter anyway
@BrosFOURRSpeed
@BrosFOURRSpeed Жыл бұрын
It was running for a lot more than 30 seconds. However I was able to pull out the amount of oil the car says it takes. So I think I got it all out. Regardless this oil change still replenished the old oil. I sold the extractor tho. Felt it's actually easier to just pull the drain plug

@@iamyourfuture808 Yeah in the Audi groups everyone was all pumped about these. So I bought it to make the video. Spent more time waiting for it to pull all the oil then I would have spent lifting the car up.
