KOing with a SA1 could award you 2 stocks for the next round. It's not a full charge, but it's enough for you to get some pressure with enhanced specials or confirm into an enhanced SA1 for a refresh. Although that may make using an SA1 to close the round maybe a bit _too_ desirable.

So with Guile you spend 3 or 4 bars if you do ex Sonic Cross, but with Mai you can throw 4 projectiles with 2 bars which the last two bounce in sequence so It gives you a mixup, combo extender or simply more Drive gauge depletion. Also level 2 is projectile punisher and corner Carry. She can destroy projectiles with her special. Has insane corner Carry with the cartwheel and the elbow, has invencible dp, 6 frames crouching medium punch, a great normal antiair, long range stand heavy punch that is cancellable, ex driven combos, fast Drive rush... Seems fair and balance

One thing I’m curious about…I know ppl are buggin out over the fan projectile pressure….but to me the fans look like they could be walked out of after the 1st bounce tho…unless they are OD….like after the first bounce, while the fan is in the air, the hang time looks like u could possible walk back or dash back to avoid the 2nd hit or pressure…it might not be as oppressive as it looks unless u willing to to spend resources

I don't get why people are dooming so much about her not keeping fire stocks between rounds. I mean characters that have Level 2 Installs don't get to keep thier remaining install time left next round. And they have to spend 2 Super bars if they use it to win the round. Plus even without Flame stocks Mai seems like a pretty good and solid character unlike say Jamie or Lily who fully depend on thier resources. Also you know you quickly and easily you can build 1 Super bar in this game?😮

cause its disappointing, the point about the level 2's isnt really valid because the level 2's are usually way more versatile than the level 3's and can be activated individually, i can start round 2 or 3 and instantly pop blanka level 2 or rashid tornado you cant do that with mai, so i end up having to hit the opponent and choose not to do corner carry/sacrifice damage to use stocks

Where taking a game where it's not too uncommon to build meter for a CA in very first round. Like I said Mai seems she sillxbe fine even without Flame stocks. Jamie and Lily need to build there resources to even be functional . Doesn't seem to be the case with Mai. Like Characters with Level 2 Installa it seems like a legit buff with power and utility, not a necessity. Mai seems fine without Flame Stocks. With them she becomes a Marvel Vs Character for a short time

If Mai ends up being mid like Terry, here's my day -1 suggestion for a buff to the fire stocks: Instead of carrying all the stocks over, I think if Mai has stocks at the end of a round, she should simply begin the next round with 2 fewer stocks, so if you end with 1 or 2 you're out for the next round, but if you end the round with a level 1, you at least have 3 to start Round 2 with. Just my thought of how to balance if she were to be able to keep some stocks.

I really just don't like not being able to carry the stocks over. I would get that if it was a normal stock mechanic command or something like Jamie's drink system, but having to spend a level 1 and not have any of it carry over seems a bit iffy. That's where I could see it being more optimal to level 3 dump with Mai down the line if you have to spend too much time being technical about when to use the level 1 and then not win or lose too fast before making the most of the stocks. But that may depend on exactly how much frame data ends up changing with the moves stock vs no stock, and how much more threatening she is outside of damage - like her level 2 being a crazy fireball punish from like full screen with a stock for example.

I disagree. They shouldn't carry over. No other mechanic does that's stocked. Manon medals are different. Them not carrying over means you have to use her level 1 intelligently. Preferably at the beginning of a round. Her enhanced specials seem too good to hold meter til level 3 to burn. Expect a lot of early round 2 and 3 combos for flame stocks

Enough for you to either get pressure with her enhanced specials or to confirm a combo into an enhanced SA1 for a full stock. Any other scenario, it really shouldn't carry over. Regardless how expensive it is to stock, managing them is your job.

I feel like because she has "win conditions" like Manon, Jamie, and Lily, she will not be as good as she seems. The bottom line in this game (no matter who they add to the roster) is if they do not have Low forward into DR and/or decent enough plus frame moves WITHOUT having to upgrade in anyway mid-match, those characters will never be super viable, and they will be left in the dust eventually compared to the cast who do have those privilege's. Mark my words on this.

While many top tiers have cancelable crMKs, them being top tier is not because of them having cancelable crMKs. There are enough examples to the converse, such as JP, Guile, DJ, who all have been top / very high tier without having a cancelable crMK.
