This is amazing that no one has vandalized this. In the US that wouldn't happen. The amount of respect is to be commended. This should be preserved as a historical site for people to see the pure elegance of the style. Be a shame to see everything sold off and the place emptied.

Scattered throughout the countryside of France you will find abandoned mansions, abandoned and many left untouched and unloved. Perhaps the auction was delayed because of the pandemic, whatever the reason it is an amazing opportunity for us to peek into an unparalleled mansion with its many antiques. There were many beautiful cabinets and mirrors, chandeliers and vases. ( I am confused about the presence of personal bidets but not toilets, I think we saw only one toilet in a separate small room, but perhaps there were more and you only showed the one)

Wow, Lesley, Already the picture makes me curious, and I am so excited!! - The furniture is looking very beautiful and the interior is breathtaking. - I am already looking very much forward to this video from the Bros of Decay - and I just hit the thumbs up button of course! Kindest regards.

The little wooden ‘stamp’ or ‘flattener’ is an ink blotter. You have found many in your videos and call them a stamp. Back in the day when ink and quill were used to write, they would place absorbent paper over the writing and roll the ink blotter over to dry any wet ink.

It does look like somebody is taking good care of the house. They just missed the spider webs. Very nice house, but you have a talent for doing that.

@@LGAussie How do you know this for sure when people kept on breaking in through windows, doors and call each other to let them know how to enter the building? Force-entry is illegal. This is trespassing. Period.

This place is very beautiful indeed. For those that are arguing here in the comments section. Go watch the video again, and you will see the small white numbered auction stickers. This means the furniture and knickknacks, paintings, and every thing else are being auctioned off. Most likely in a live auction bidding via what ever site the auction house uses. People phone in, or uses something like a live chat to bid. Since this pandemic is still raging that is what most auction houses do. Of course things in the house has been pretty much cleaned up. It is very satisfying to see no spray painting crap on the walls, and broken furniture, or paperwork all over the floor. After the house is emptied of everything, either it will be sold by the bank, and or whom ever owns it. Yes there is black mold on the third floor, either the house will be deep cleaned or sold as is. Great video.

I'm interested in seeing old beds and how they're are designed. I feel like old beds are so cool because they are as old as the person that uses it before they are gone.

Beautiful chateau ! Amazing how dust free most of the furniture is. I hope the present day owners follow through on an auction and sell this beautiful place to someone who’ll maintain it.

So does someone come in occasionally and dust? Looks pretty good for having been left for so long. 😆

@@Lisa.Sparkman lol. That remark he made had me laughing. They are silk fans. I had one years ago. I also have an ivory fan my dad got my mom in Japan in 1951 around the time of the Korean war. My dad was in the US Air Force. I inherited all my mom's and dad's things and that fan is beautiful. Totally illegal now.

I really believe the owners are currently planning to put those items up for auction. Those tags look brand new, not yellowed with age. Someone owns it but can’t afford the upkeep or to live there. How sad. Interesting how modern the bathroom looks yet the kitchen has not been remodeled.
@mariangrimsdell11123 жыл бұрын
The old unkept kitchen and the booze bottles suggest that an old man lived there, maybe he was getting ready to sell and go to retirement but he passed away probably in last 5 years because the mild has not taken over.
