This was the first worldwide satellite broadcast buy a single entertainer. More people watched this concert than watching the Moon landing. And since this concert was broadcasted around the world, Elvis wore a suit that symbolized America...the American Eagle. Awesome performance. ❤🎶

Cool fact about this concert: the population of the entire earth was about 3.7 Billion people. Over 1 Billion watched this satellite concert live. That means that over 25% of the entire population of earth watched at the same time...bigger than any Super Bow, awards show, or anything else. Imagine!

It was the first concert via satellite heard around the world. Where close to a billion people watched the concert from Hawaii back in 1973. There is only one artist who was able to attain such views, and interest around the world. And that was the King... Elvis Presley. Priceless!

There is just one Elvis Presley and there will never be another! I was there at Graceland, Memphis on his 40th death anniversary and there were approximately 50 thousand people present. No singer till date commands such a draw and I don't believe there ever will be one. He sang with an unmatched passion and as compared to the singers/technology of modern times what you heard is what he sounded like...no tweaking of the voice or lip-sync! Sadly he passed away when he was just 42 years of age...what a legend!!!

This was the FIRST satellite concert televised! It was seen on this night by 1.5 billion people at the same time! In 1973! More people watched this than the moon landing! He was and still is the KING! Thank you for reviewing this. I also did not hear one racist word in his lyrics. I too was born in the south...in "Dixie Land"...and am proud of my heritage! me and my family chopped and picked cotton beside different races. We were on the same level...paid the same...ate under a tree if you could find one together. We laughed and sang together while we worked for the farmers and land owners. People have such a chip on their shoulders these days. Everyone has been discriminated against for something! Not having new clothes, unable to live in fancy houses, drive fancy cars, your family member being the town drunk, or ex convict...etc. Times were hard but we made it...and we're stronger for it!

Elvis died on August 16, 1977 at the age of 42. I was 13 at the time. I'll never forget it. His funeral was the largest I'd ever seen in my life. (Televised, of course.) Outside his home at Graceland was overflowing with devastated fans. My mother loved him, as did billions of people. I loved him and even now, my own grown children love him. He'll never be forgotten. He had one daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. He also has a few grandchildren. Lisa also had a son that she said looked just like him, who passed away at the age of 27 or 28.
