Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have had my SDX for more than 3 months in the box unopened. You gave me the push to set it up and try. So my 1st and 2nd tries failed, that's ok. Now I'm ready. Yippee! I dislike fussy cutting, I mean really rebel against fussy cutting. This is the answer to my prayers. Thank you.

I cut all kinds of plastic like acetate, Shrinky Dinks, Mylar, etc. If it will not cut with the standard blade, you can always try the Deep Cut Blade.

Webb, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I just saw this. The dots are the year and the month. 9 dots is 2019. 3 dots is March. The mat you have is not one of the defective ones which were produced during 2018.

Does your mat show the outline cut of what you cut? Mine does and I can't get the pressure of the needle right. I did the test part about 6 times. Can please help!

Janel, if I use paper with a lot of fibers in it, the outline does show on the mat. If you are cutting cleanly through your material and not the mat, you are doing fine. Scratches don’t hurt anything.

I’m using #110 card stock on my Brother SDX125. The images aren’t cutting all the way through the paper. Do you know what I’m doing wrong?

Got one of this and straight from the box I had issues, first the touch screen was not working and the (mat )was not sticky. I try working with it for 3 days, send it back, I was afraid to keep it and loss all that money.

Did you try and get a replacement? My first mat wasn’t as sticky as this mat. Also, this machine is the total opposite of my first one. Each machine has a personality and this one is agreeable.

I was all ready to order one from HSN, but after seeing what you (and others, judging by the poor reviews) have gone through, now I don't feel very optimistic about this model. ☹️

I send mine back to HSN, because straight from the box I had issues with the touch screen, and the matt was not sticky. I dint care much about the matt, but I did about the touch screen not working. I send it back. I was sad cause I really wanted it. but I was afraid to keep it and loss all that money..

I'm sad to hear that you sent it back but I totally understand and can relate to your frustration. Maybe at some point, you can get a replacement or get one during a special. When it works good, it is fun to use.

Since you have the link to the Amazon sdx125 is this where/what you ordered yours? If so should I order anything else at this time besides just the machine and what comes with it?

@@mw4594 I have purchased two machines on Amazon. My latest machine came from Brother. It didn't have anything with it. Just one Autoblade, one drawing pen and one mat. I didn't get a package deal. I get all of my accessories on Amazon. Sometimes the package deals end up costing more than if you just purchase the items separately.

Hooray!! Your stamped images with the border turned out great. It appears that if the alignment doesn't work, there is a machine problem. Sounds like Brother rolled out the machine before it fixed all its issues.

I’m thinking that some were duds and some were not. As frustrated as I was, many of my viewers were experiencing the same issues. It was a learning experience for sure but I’m loving my new machine.

mine cut into my matt when I did the welcome project , I thought it was auto cut depth? How do I fix that?

Lisa, it is an Autoblade and should not cut through. I recommend lowering the pressure in your settings. It will also be different next time because you will be cutting different materials. Of yes, duck tape the bottom of your mat. It has happened to me too.

Ok, when I scan and get to the window where I select the border icon I select that. But, I don't get the next window where you select how big the border should be. Is my machine not working or am I missing something?

Yes, after you select it, you have the option to resize it. Check your firmware to see if you have the latest version.

Well, I have learned to love it more. I am not taking this video down because that is what actually happened. Brother Tech Support was awesome. They did replace it for me. Also, I am developing a course using the SDX125 and so I have discovered and shared lots of new features. The mats are more expensive but yet wireless is included so the SDX does have some advantages. Still, it all depends on what you want to do with the machine. That is how I decide on which model to purchase.

Be careful with your tools on the right side. As I closed up my door on the machine, one of the tools got stuck inside and somewhere under the loading wheels and the mat was loading crooked!!! I had to send that machine back to QVC and get another one because of what happened and it wouldn't work right. I no longer keep my tools there. I just put them in a Ziploc bag instead...ugh

Thanks for letting me know. I keep just my USB stick in the side compartment because it will not fit in the storage holder. As soon as I don't have 3 machines on my table and I clear things up, I am going to keep all of tools in the two storage bins. I like how much room there is in there. I can fit extra blades in there too.

I had a activation card for my Brother Scan & Cut 2. Can I used this same card for my DX2?

You actually don’t need an activation card for your SDX125 because wireless is already enabled on it. Also, you can only use the activation number one time.

I plan on showing that paper. I think it will involve my pencil trick because those are not full hummingbirds. They parts are not connected. The bird is made of little squares.
