Wowzer, heard my wife make that sound while sewing that meant only one thing, I'm going to buy a new sewing machine. In the last three months two of her sewing machines died on one day, then a third one gave up the following day. She was down to one sewing machine. When she showed me the problem, I started looking at Google responses. I had looked at four or five when I came to yours. My wife was ready to throw this machine out the door. When she watched your video, she hurried back into her sewing room, turned the machine off and back on. Sure enough the little arm retracted back into place. Problem fixed, money saved. Your video was fantastic. From all the other reviews, there are many of us who thank for posting this fix. Your Awesome.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU Amanda!! I’m 1,000 miles away from home at my daughters sewing things for my daughter’s first baby. This is a borrowed machine and I thought I killed it! I’m not used to a drop in bobbin and I couldn’t get inside the bobbin case. Your video popped up, I unplugged the machine, plugged it back in and voila!! Fixed!!! You’re a genius my dear. Crisis averted. Whew!!

Thank you so much for posting. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out the problem. I was in the middle of sewing dresses for my daughter's wedding and I thought I was going to need to take it in. Your video helped and I'm back to work. Ty so much.

I have been yelling at my machine for HOURS trying to figure out why it kept getting stuck on that little arm. Thank you!!!

Woooow. I spent way too much time taking my machine apart, looking at it, cleaning it out, putting it back together, trying to sew only to end up where I started..when all I had to do was turn it off and turn it back on again. Thank you for this video! Same problem, same solution.

Amanda THANK YOU!!! I have been trying to figure this out for hours, watching videos and pouring over my handbook. I turned on my machine (Baby Lock Sophia 2), hit the scissors button and voila! You saved me repair costs and are they only video that helped. Seriously, thanks so very very much.

Thank you so much I could not figure why it was not pulling up after it caught on the bobbin thread. I have been sewing forever but this is a new machine to me and you are right there was no trouble shooting for this problem!. I didn't know it fixed itself after I turned off the machine and came here looking for answers. Thanks again Amanda.

Thank you, I wasted over an hour with my bobbin area open and in pieces trying to figure out why that arm kept grabbing my thread! Your video instantly fixed my problem!! Thanks!

YOU ARE MY HERO!! This and my machine stuck sewing backward have been cursing my mask making life. Turning it off and then on helps with the backward thing, but I had NO idea what that little arm thing was for, as I am also new to brother machines and a novice sewer. Thank you so very much for posting this.

Thank you!!! My thread kept getting jammed & I couldn't figure out why until I watched your video. Did not know that arm wasn't suppose to be out there. Yay!! You are a life saver.

Mine got stuck. I’m new to this too!!! My arm was extended even when powering off. The spring was out of place for me too! Thank you so much for confirming! I noticed it moved when I pushed it. After watching someone else’s video. I said hey, this arm isn’t in.

Thank thank thank you. I knew where the problem was or thread was catching but unsure what to do about it! You are a life saver, something new for me to learn about my machine.

Thank you so much. In the middle of making 2 small quilts for twin boys for a baby shower TOMORROW! My machine was doing this after my bobbin thread got jammed. It was stressing me out so bad I got fed up and finally went to bed. Laying here I thought I'd Google it and found your video. I remember seeing that slim arm sticking out when I took it apart. Now I know what it is. In the morning I'll hopefully get it corrected.😁

Thank you! I had the same exact issue happen to me last night. I could not figure out how to get that cutting arm back in or if it was supposed to be extended. Or even what it is. I fiddled with it for so long and was so frustrated. Finally I found your video and turned my machine off and on, and voila! Now I’m scared to use the cutting button anymore. Lol!

Gosh your an angel! I had this problem tonight couldn’t figure it out. Now after your video, it worked. I had plates of cleaning it, after that thread catching on it, same bar was extended. Thread wrapping on it. To think simple fix is turn it on and off. lol 😂 thank you again!! Babylock, But similar to brother machines. So your video helped me out. Thankful tonight! Back to sewing 🧵 lol

I wish I could buy you a dozen roses! I spent 2 hours trying to "fix" this very same issue. My machine jammed again and again, but (I know not safe), even after taking everything apart multiple times, and still with it jamming, I hadn't thought to turn it off! Aaaaaahhhhh! Thank you so much for this video!

Geez what a hero! I was that close to being done with a HUGE project and had this problem. I took out the bobbin casing - brushed everything out - no luck - took other parts off to see if I could find anything stuck in there - all clean - put it all back together - nothing! (and yes before anyone comes at me I did all this without turning the machine off - dumb I know). Watched your video - turned off the machine and turned it back on and BAM - back in business. Thanks so much.

Thank you so much! I had exactly the same issue on my Brother PC-420 and spent hours attempting to fix it. I followed all of the instructions on the Brother site including re-threading, new bobbin, new needle, different thread, and nothing worked. If it were my PC, power-cycling it would have been the first thing I tried. But computers are a lot less intimidating than sewing machines now days! Please accept the gratitude of a 50 year old father attempting to create Christmas gifts with his daughter on a tight schedule.

Unfortunately I don't know much about other issues. The only other thing that I have had to deal with was if I don't make sure to get the bobbin thread tucked under/secured in the little metal part on the bobbin threader as you loop it around the Bobbin cutter.
