Best video. I've been watching videos for weeks trying to fix my machine and all they say is its the tension or your threading it wrong. Was so close to spending hundreds on another machine last night. Found you in the nick of time. Thanks a million!!!!

The best thing for someone trying to do a timing for the first time is to do it step by step, put the needle in the middle position, and manually turn the wheel until the needle is in the highest position and at the same time check if the feed dogs are also in the highest position, loosen the first screw which is accessible and make a mark so as not to confuse it with the second screw, then turn the steering wheel until the needle is in its lowest position and continue to turn the wheel until the point of the hook is just behind the needle, and loosen the second screw to release the hook which no longer works turn, and then continue to turn the flywheel so that the needle rises 2 to 3 millimeters until the indentation, the hollow part which is above the needle hole, is at the same level as the tip of the hook and by this manipulation check that the feed dogs in their lowest position go up a few millimeters, while maintaining the hook in the reverse order tighten the first which was the second screw to loosen and then turn the wheel to tighten the second screw which was the first screw to loosen. This method can be applied as well as with a vertical hook whose hook turns in the opposite direction (from left to right). In addition to checking the stitches on a seam, check that as the needle point enters the plate also that the feed dogs begin to go inside the plate.

Thank you so much this video was a life saver! I'm still having an issue though, after adjusting it, my stitches are catching now but not all of them, the hook will catch 2 times and then the third it will just pass right by, or the hook will catch one and then not the next. Any suggestions?

So I think my needle is scraping the metal piece within the bobbin holder. The timing is also off. I wish I could add a photo. Is this something that can be fixied?
@ca5ualm3dia Жыл бұрын
hi my dog knocked my mother's cs-6000i and the needle hits the foot or metal part ,and usualy breaks the needle , I took it apart but I dont know where to adjust or try to bend it back strait , maybe the entire shell is off , but it mostly looks like its the needle traveling up and down impacting the plastic or the metal !

Thank you for the videos. I have an issue with my Brother machine The needle won't pick up the bobbin thread. I replaced the bobbin case and no difference. The rotary hook turns to opposite side of wheel from the needle. Is the timing WAY off?? Thank you

Is the black part supposed to move? Any time I make it go back, it moves and the needle hits the black part. And is the hook you were talking about in the video supposed to touch the needle?

I watched this video yesterday and immediately tore the machine apart to observe what was happening according to your explanation. I was able to loosen the screws and adjust the hook to the proper positioning. THANK YOU for this practical, easy to follow and precise description of machine timing. My machine was skipping stitches occasionally when using a zig-zag. Now, she's humming along perfectly.

Ty Ty Ty. I’m reupholstering my sofa and at some point the timing on two of my machines is so messed up needles are breaking. After inspecting one of them I see that the needle drops down too early/late and nicks the bottom of the bobbin housing/holder (or whatever it is called). Hopefully once I make an adjustment of a few mm it will run smoothly. At least for the remainder of this project. 😅

Thank you so much for this! I've been researching for hours trying to understand why my machine is having issues! Everywhere said the basic stuff and none of it was correct. Oh, it is just the tension, threaded wrong, etc. etc. No one suggested TIMING! Thank you!!

Where should it be so it works if the needle is on the right? It looks like if you align the top of the needle hole with the hook if the needle is on the left, then it will be off if the needle is on the right. How can you position so it is correct for both? Thank you; your videos are helping me troubleshoot my brother 6000csi which only moves the fabric backwards or stays in place!!
