I'm 36 and a lot of times I feel like life has passed me by. When I listen to Ant or Slug talking about their passion for hip hop at 50 it inspires me to fulfill my own life. I love Atmosphere and the perspective it has brought my life. thank you to Anthony and Sean (and Ali) for the words of wisdom.

I love both of you guys so much. Ant is such a kind hearted person. I have seen Atmoshpere and you many times. The last time I saw Atmosphere was in Birmingham. My girlfriend and I took Ant and Dem Atlas to the Nick after the show (I am pretty sure you played there as well). The Nick just celebrated 40 years and it is Birmingham's OG club before we had venues. It was such a cool evening and surreal.

I’m listening to this on Spotify right now. What Ants talking about just wondering if his Hero’s from NY would know that he existed doing what he was doing. It reminds me of the Evidence line, “I never thought about Fame, I just thought about if KRS would know my name.” That recognition from your peers and the people you respect. Validation. Well they heard and so did all of us fans. Much Love to RSE. Brother Ali. Hip Hop is 50 and I’m proud to have been raised in a pair of headphones 🎧

Bro, this is the Pinnacle of interviews for an aspiring beat maker inspired-by-you-guys and who works at a Chicago hotel, gets home at midnight, fires up the MPC, and goes to real work. Every night until 4-5am. Addicted to the therapy. I appreciate the in-depth thoughtfulness here. A lot of genius insight here into the mind of one of the best. And now that I think of it, I think I made Slug sign my Converse shoe in Milwaukee after a show circa 2003. I think they were with Crescent Moon? Haha. I'm 37. Huge fan. For the loving sake of art.

This was a great interview. I don't think anybody outside of his crew could get Ant to be this candid. This was great insight into his life, thought process, and perspective. The conversation went beneath the surface into his development as a DJ and producer. A lot of "inside baseball" (which is the best thing a listener can get) on the Rhymesayers crew and the scene they created. Very dope. Salute Brother Ali for creating the space for this to take place. Salute the legend Ant, one of the illest ever.

I could watch this conversation everyday lol. US had some bangers but I don’t find myself listening to it as much as it deserves. I think that some of the songs are difficult to listen to because of how serious the topics are. Strictly Leakage is 🔥🔥🔥 Oddly enough, Champion EP is probably my favorite project that you all made. Bad MF has some serious heat and Rain Water is prob my fav Ali track overall. Hell, everything that Ant touches is gold. Peace and love to both of these guys. The best thing about Atmosphere is that EVERY album that ever came out people hated it….until the next album came out and they hated that one and everything before it became the “classic”.
@StefanBorglducky Жыл бұрын
Also, because I've heard Brother Ali continually praise "You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having" and even suggest it as one of the all time classics of hip hop, it's so strange to me as an Atmosphere fanatic since 2000 how it's the one unlistenable Atmosphere album to me (aside from "Little Man" and "That Night" of course), but I still have a hard time with most songs on that album... Makes me wonder if I'll have a light bulb moment sometime
