feels great, i played at the opening, hit 60 and gave up on the grind, came back to bliss, level grind has been abolished, pvp is great, pve is amazing, new dungeons and new gears, i can't get enough honestly.

Debating on getting this or throne of liberty. I’ve played the steam version of new world up to level 35 but haven’t played since October of 2022. I played throne of liberty beta I liked it mostly but didn’t like some stuff about combat. What game would you guys recommend?

Personally I think new world will unfortunately die again within a month. Just being brutally honest. Only time will tell. I don’t know much about throne of liberty.

If you have NW you should really see for yourself. Get a feel for the updates and see if it clicks. It does feel much more polished now like how it's inteded to be. I got to 50 on TnL and dropped it cause the combat just didn't make want to do any of the content where I got the opposite on NW as someone who like action rpgs. I do hope they keep going with the content cause acc to people who sunk thousands of hrs into it, it's still not enough.

Let me tell you. I played throne in beta and played it til lvl 65 with fairly mid-game/endgame gear (t1 weapons, rest blue but full traited). I'm in guild raids and other guild battles as well. I had the same problem as you. It's quite simple. Thrones pros are:" more content and community, more group based playing, as it is required to be in a guild in order to progress. Cons:" mobile game fighting mechanics (tab target and spam 1,2,3,4,5), heavy pay2win because pvp is just gear dependent. And the payment never stops, cause there will be more content and patches, which will unevitably force you to pay again or you will be left behind. There are also daily todos and limits which you should do or you waste your time limited resources to progress. So all in all throne is much more grinding and paying dependent.

For pvp S tier. For pve I think the best tank setup right now is fail ss. But greatsword ss is also very good at tanking

Medium feels the best atm. Heavy just lacks mobility, but if your fine with that I would go heavy it's more chill. I will make a guide later.

same! the lvl 20 pvp been mad fun in open world lol. even fighting 30s as a 20 is fun again, although too many using hatchet being lazy with throwing ability which just been kinda boring lol

Combat in this mmo is really awesome..almost soulslike/a single player combat system..hopefully they continue to develop the game add more skill and weapons, and maybe a different system so that you can mix up all the weapons

How we all feel about Bow/greatsword or bow/spear (my old pvp fav). kinda tired of using and seeing hatchet, specially pvp when all hatchet users only use the throwing skill over and over.

I like the PvP but the stagger when trying to 1vX is so bad especially when people just spam light attacks. They should put stamina cost on light and heavy attacks to stop spammers.

Grit helps with that a lot.

@@Soulgrot definitely helps but when in full light getting spammed by 3 people light spamming it ruins the fun alot of the time. If they made light attacks cost 5 or 10 stamina it would make people think about when to attack i think. If you are a tank for instance and try blocking a few people there's nothing stopping them from infinitely striking your shield until they get you stunned.

@@Stephencurran_7 I think that would be a interesting change. That would also change the balance a lot, would be pretty spicy. In new world I have always found it easier to 1vx with range because you don't have that problem.

@@Soulgrot I feel like musket and Rapier are the only weapons i can 1vX on atm. If they made light attacks cost stamina they could have different weapons have different stamina costs like Greatsword would cost more stamina due to size etc.

I am more a PvP player in NW, but the thing I don't like the most - is all this berserker-haste meta, where people just start running away if they start loosing, making 80% of PvP - a chasing, like wtf bro don't be so pussy. I basically don't chase them, just looking at them and spamming emotes to wait for them to heal and come back or run away.
