@@oacumulador Really shouldn't be much more difficult than this other than working with the curves. I've found that sometimes the curves actually make it easier.

I'M SURPRISED, it looks like the back glass is more work than the windshield, wasn't expecting that, but at least now I'm better prepared! Thanks.

The smaller the glass the more trouble it is.

Use silicone spray works pretty good when installing a window and locking bead onto the rubber.
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV3 жыл бұрын
We like Silicone spray for this job too, but Dave is a body man and he won't use it because it causes Havoc in the spray booth.

About to venture into this on my 64. Is there any benefit to cutting the gasket at a 45º angle so there's some overlap?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV3 жыл бұрын
Not really, you'll find that the glass is probably stuck in there very well after this many years.

Love flat glass. Installing tinted helps with A/C and high beams at night. How about chrome lock beads or covers? Back sliders ? My install tool is at least 40+ years old but you get what you pay for. Your helper was demonstrating the all important correct tongue position, silence. You are a worthy instructor, thank you.
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV3 жыл бұрын
Chrome bead installation is actually the same and slightly easier because the Chrome Lock Bead is firmer than the Black. We're going to be installing a Slider in an upcoming video, so stay tuned on that. And yes, great helpers and good tools are VERY important!

I appreciate all the videos you instruct with & your a very good teacher (coming from another teacher)! A question? I have a 66 LCF60 & it has the small back window without the lock strip & the windshield came out easily, while saving the rubber as it was like new still & the rear window is the smaller size (30 wide) & the window has previous welding splatter on it, but the seal is still soft & supple so I'd like to reuse it if possible & is the easiest way to just break the glass or work it out like the windshield? IS the glass simple tempered flat glass as the glass shop I got the windshield quote from says it isn't available so I assume can be cut but they don't do this? Any help is much appreciated? Thanks, Robbin Wenzoski
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV3 жыл бұрын
If the glass works its way out EASY, then that would be our first option. If not, breaking it is option two. The glass is probably NOT tempered, but it is probably laminated. New glass is available from us at www.brotherstrucks.com

Thanks for this video, we installed the precision gasket twice and it kept falling off the pinchweld and to much pucker in the corners, gasket seemed to soft and flimsy. With your advice and a gasket from LMC, the install went easy. Would have used a gasket from Brothers but I heard you supply precision. Thanks for the skills you share with everyone!

Any thoughts on gluing the rubber joint together to help with future shrinkage? Thanks for the video.
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV2 жыл бұрын
If you cut it long like Dave did in the video then there is no reason to try and glue it.
@nexpro69852 жыл бұрын
We use a length of high quality nylon or polyester cord in the groove. When the cord is pulled it flips the rubber out. The inside is usually a case of a little adjustment.
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV2 жыл бұрын
We use a high quality cord to pull our rubber around the pinch weld too on our NON-Lock Bead style rubber. However, on Lock Bead types of rubber we always do it as seen in this video.

How about the rope/string 🤔 Would this be helpful?

This isn't that style rubber. Whenever you have a Lock Bead, you install it like this.

@@frankie4speed818 The right buyer will give a mild premium for it as long as it's mostly (or completely) original. We'd say rule of thumb is about 5-10% tacked on to the value of the truck at the time of sale.
