BRP BAGACAY (MRRV-4410)
The BRP Bagacay (MRRV-4410) is a multi-role response vessel (MRRV) of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). As part of the Parola-class vessels, it plays a vital role in various missions, including search and rescue, environmental protection, and law enforcement operations. The BRP Bagacay is named after the historical Bagacay Point Lighthouse in Liloan, Cebu, symbolizing the ship's role in safeguarding maritime routes and ensuring the safety of those at sea.
In July 2023, the BRP Bagacay was involved in a ferry mission in San Agustin, Romblon. This operation underscored the vessel's versatility, as it is not only deployed for law enforcement and patrol duties but also in humanitarian missions such as transporting goods, services, and personnel to various parts of the archipelago.
As of now, the BRP Bagacay is deployed in the West Philippine Sea, a strategic location where it plays a crucial role in safeguarding the sovereignty of the Philippines. Alongside her sister ships, she is tasked with protecting the country’s territorial waters, monitoring maritime activities, and ensuring the enforcement of maritime laws in this contested region. This deployment highlights the PCG's commitment to defending national interests and maintaining a robust presence in areas of geopolitical significance.
