Bruce Nolan's (Jim Carrey) career in TV has been stalled for a while, and when he's passed over for a coveted anchorman position, he loses it, complaining that God is treating him poorly. Soon after, God (Morgan Freeman) actually contacts Bruce and offers him all of his powers if he thinks he can do a better job. Bruce accepts and goes on a spree, using his new-found abilities for selfish, personal use until he realizes that the prayers of the world are going unanswered.

Fun fact: when they're walking on water, it's actually not an ocean at all. It's a pond that universal has on their backlot that they make to LOOK like it is, through some clever camera angles.

This movie has a nice concept of what if one person would get all God's powers and him seeing (who hated God) how hard it is wae an eye opener. This is where I found a love for Jim Carrey and the funniest part was the news repo9🤣

The traffic jam scene at the beginning sums up Bruce Nolan's character in an important way. If you pay attention to the background as he's ranting, you can see someone being loaded into an ambulance. The traffic jam was caused by some accident, people are injured and quite possibly even dead, and the only thing Bruce notices is how the situation is affecting him. It really emphasizes how self-centered he is.

I loved this movie when it came out. Morgan Freeman as God. It just kind of works, doesn't it? And queue the manic comments below from the hyper-religious bunch about how this isn't a good representation of their religion. Speaking as a former member of that cult, true, but not far off.

It shows life deep here. Love it. Also, I see that some people mistaken lust for love in life. When a man is so in love with a woman.. its not because her " power of coochie" like you said.. its power of heart attraction. When you love with heart - you get the biggest pleasure ever and attraction to body is extra pleasure. Read Bible and study poetry books, so you can understand what I'm saying. I experienced love before.. and I would NEVER sleep with any random girl, because I want the queen of my heart... loving with heart, mind and body is more pleasurable then just empty lust for a body only with any random girl. GOD made love for us, lust is from devil.

What I enjoyed the most about this movie is it was filmed at the Universal Studios Backlot. That place is loaded with TV and film history. For example, the town of Buffalo was used previously as Hill Valley for the Back to the Future films.

I normally don't care for Jim Carrey in comedies. I actually prefer his serious roles. I was surprised by how much I loved this movie and I also loved him and Liar Liar and in Fun With Dick And Jane. As good as Jim Carrey is in comedies I just think his acting as far better in dramas such as The Truman show.

I love the collaboration you guys did, just it feels weird when two reactors doing it together, feels like both of you trying to say something to prove that you are "reacting" to the movie (plus the extra interaction between you guys), then with double of the talking, sometimes you guys were talking about a single scene for 15 seconds as the movie goes on... dude just pause the movie if you really have to say that much! Coz if you dont the reaction video starts to feel like a talk show. the movie feels like a background that's not important at all. maybe it's the volume of the voice? Idk, but I do prefer either one of you guys doing it solo tbh, much much less unnecessary commentaries
