There was a quote attributed to Marcus Aurelius. "Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods but unjust, then you should not want to worship them." Always stuck with me.

This movie profoundly changed the trajectory of my life. I was trying so hard to fit in the box that others chose for me that I lost my authentic self. The part where God tell Bruce that he brings joy to others by being himself and that what he was literally made for resonated with me so deeply. I was able to reclaim my self identity and eventually break free from the cult that I belonged to.

6:14 Sweeps are time periods when television stations/networks typically schedule programming designed to attract a larger than usual audience. The concept of sweeps began in 1954 when Nielsen began mailing out one-week TV diaries to households to fill-out what programs they were watching. Originally, diaries were mailed and collected in the northeast households before sweeping across the country to the western markets.
@steveplowright5014
@steveplowright5014 10 ай бұрын
more importantly, however, those ratings were then used to determine how much money the network could charge for commercial airtime. The higher the ratings, the more they could charge. This is why sweeps weeks traditionally had better than normal programming scheduled, to bring in the viewers and boost the ratings.

After all of his sillier movies (which have their place, mind you) this one was really an eye-opener on Jim Carrey's talent. He could do more than comedy, he could do drama. He even did horror in The Number 23, which was a bad movie, but not because of Carrey's acting. He's a lot like Johnny Depp, he has a bomb or two in his film history, but I've never seen him do a bad job playing his characters.

That's a really great movie, even with my bad theology detector going off from time to time 😅 There are so many great points and counterpoint to a lot of misconceptions on what it means to be a believer of God. And Jim and Steve's comedy duo is next level! Anyway, I love your reactions bro, you always keep it real with us, even if it's a bit personal. I'm happy you've at least coped with a lot of the hard stuff. Much love to you, my guy. "Be the hand and the feet of Jesus Christ", and keep on keeping on!

I just discovered your movie reaction channel. I came from your music reaction channel,back when you reacted to Linkin Park. I love Jim Carey too. He's Canadian,just like me. He has a great sense of humor. He inspired so many people.
