Love your reaction to Bruce Hornsby!!! I've been a fan of his since the 80s....

Wow. I can’t believe you mentioned “I Can’t Make You Love Me”. There are only a handful of my absolute favorite songs from that time period and that is another one. I discovered the Bruce Hornsby /Bonnie Raitt live version a few months ago and now it’s on my play list on You Tube. My other late night, chill out , ups/downs of life playlist songs that I listened to over and over again (on the cassette player!) 35+ years ago included Bruce Hornsby- The Way It Is, Bonnie Raitt- Not The Only One, James Taylor- Shower The People and Gloria Estefan- Don’t Wanna Loose You.

This is my favorite song by Bruce. The lyrics in song stated that he knew that she was going to leave; but he chose to love her anyway. Talk about setting yourself for heartache......

Sure, this is a true definition of setting yourself for a heartache. Glad you love the song!

This is one of my all time favorite songs!! Ever! I can’t tell you how many nights I listened to this song to get me through the ups and downs of life. Glad to see the younger generation reacting to this amazing song. Another one of my all time favorite songs and artists of that time period was Don Henley- the song The End of the Innocence. That would be another great song to react to. It is another absolutely beautiful song.

Did you know that The End Of The Innocence was co-written by Bruce Hornsby and Don Henley. Bruce played the Piano on it. You should also check out "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt with Bruce on Piano. Great Live version out there.

Nobody knows how to make a piano cry like Bruce, and to use keyboard string patches as a force multiplier.

Your voice sounds like an African Eartha Kitt. Nice reaction....I'm from the same area as Bruce and he's one of the few artists from that part of the world who really took off. This song strikes a resounding chord when you've been divorced. I left my ex-wife almost 2 years ago...(I was the one at fault and decided to give her a better opportunity at happiness.) There's moments I sink into depression when I recall the happy times...then I remember it was my choice. I'll eventually get past it...and my new relationship while shaky is helping. Granted I irk her sometimes but as she told me "We're working on it"

Every reactor out there has done "The Way It Is." It's like they're all watching each other's channels, but you're doing "Mandolin Rain." Great choice. Bruce Hornsby wrote some great songs, other than "The Way It Is." It's great too, but it's nice to hear something else. :)
