Regardless. A pro fighter can punch faster than a signal can get from sensing it coming to the muscles being told to move out of the way. Nothing can be done to speed up the speed of the electrical signal from the brain to the muscle significantly. If such a boxer can remove his tells, there is nobody who can dodge nor block his punch. Why self defense advocates talk about always watching for trouble and stay out of reach when possible. The main thing attackers do to remove their tells is to attack from a blind spot. Situational awareness helps would be victims a lot.

In fact, if he WASNT a tough, fast and hard (smart) Martial Arts icon, why so many well known and accepted Martial Arts Experts accepted him as REAL? I dont believe that the best Martial Arts Experts and Grandmasters would cheer a POSER up. And a POSER and weak big mouth cant create a "New" Martial Art (JKD) that is accepted and studied by other Experts. And i remember that Bruce never had a Black Belt or a "Rank" like a Grandmaster so its much more impressive to step into the MA World and make Grandmasters to friends and followers.

Lee said that he use not real moves on screen bec real moves dont look great on screen. So he used good looking techniques he never would use in a real fight. A real fight lasts a few seconds but on screen there must be a long fight. In real life on hard punch ends a fight, on screen both fighters are from iron...Lee vs Norris and Tyson vs whoever...staged dancing fight for the screen vs Bamm Bamm over. Every Boxer ar Full Contact fighter knows that one move make a finish but on screen it would be a boring movie when Lee ends his fights with one punch. Most realistic one was in "WAY" when he slaps and knocks out the Black "Jimi Hendrix", not these fights with Wall or Norris.

I speculate that Bruce, being the superlative martial artist that he was, knew the difference between "fighting for the camera" and real fighting. The distances, the timing, the strikes, everything. There are many great Martial Artists nobody knows outside their Sport and many fakers "fights" on screen and the public named them "Fighters". No Bruce Lee, no Jackie Chan (as world movie star), no Norris, no Van Damme and no Seagal. All their fame grounds on Bruce Lees work to bring the Martial Arts to public and Screen all over the world, not only in China. Anyone remembers about all these stupid Shaolin Movies by Shaw Brothers? With 30 ft jumps, crashing big trees by one punch? Jumping high and fighting sword while flying in the air? Nobody wants that garbage in the west and no "star" from that movies is well known outside a small community.

@@Andres64B Martial arts culture, particularly Chinese and to a lesser extent Japanese fulfils most of the requirements of being a cult. You have a master who must not be contradicted and whose teachings are infallible, and the worst crime anyone can commit is to prove them wrong which is not seen as evidence but as a crisis of faith (at which point the excuses come flying in to save the day, "I didn't want to hurt the pupil" or "this was a test which he failed" etc etc). @@RahimmacDonald uh yeah no. Ali copied his style from Sugar Ray Robinson and SRR learned that from boxing fundamentals. None of anything was stolen but passed on or implemented somewhere else. Martial arts is a learnt experience not something to be stolen. The only idea of “stealing” is amongst masters who say they developed it first or are the only of their kind by their claims but elsewhere it was made before and even the same thing but different name. That is the idea of “stealing” in martial art forms. Bruce Lee never claimed to invent something but learned and implemented it and even says his basis of Jeet Kune Do is derived from different forms of martial arts. He also did train actual pros and world class fighters and more of other types of fighters. That is well documented history

It’s kinda like how Larry Holmes looks very similar to Ali in style but did not get his entire style from him. Like the bouncing around like a kangaroo definitely didn’t come from Ray. When I watched ray the only thing that looked similar is some of the combos and the way they trained, ray didn’t not avoid punches the same way ali did which is by turning the head slight to the left or right. As someone who was around in the sixties and has observed fighting culture before and after, it's interesting to me, how, popular opinions as to what "a good fighter" is change. Almost up to the sixties, a good fighter used his fists, then in the sixties and seventies, a good fighter was expected to kick, head butt, elbow. Now a days, as a result of UFC , a good fighter rolls about on the floor with his opponent and actual martial artists are mocked.

A master is a master; a grand master is a grand master. The philosophy of the Chinese Kung Fu is not to challenge others especially a grand master. Have you watched the Ip Man movies? Did you see him to challenge others like the character Gold Mountain Claw who challenged everyone in the 1st Episode? In my point of view, only those who have no names needed to challenge others to build up their reputation, but this is not the attitude of a Grand Master of the Chinese Kung Fu.

Well he basically created MMA and encouraged the breaking down of styles and combining knowledge and using what either expresses you the most or is the most effective. He combined what he knew of his father’s teachings at the Thai Chi school he owned, with Wing Chun and western boxing, as well as my people’s art, Kali and more. Bruce knew a lot. In his words, he could show you really fancy kung fu moves, but to express one’s self completely and honestly? Is an entirely different matter (paraphrasing of course). Lee was onto something with taking what inspired him by people like Mohammad Ali, and his existing knowledge base. Guys…that’s MMA man. MMA is proven and effective.

Bruce Lee was an amazing martial artist. I wish he would have stayed longer, but the great ones seldom do. Dont get me wrong, Bruce was an imperfect human, as we all are, but a leader & trailblazer in martisl arts & martisl art film production. His films are better than most ever released.

Even though Lee sort of let go of WC a bit, he held onto the mindset of focused power, speed, accuracy and efficiency. A lot of modern real life martial artists believe a mid weight semi pro MMA fighter could beat him without a lot of effort. I know a lot of understanding of the arts and mixing them has had a lot of progress since then. I'm unconvinced either way.

CLICKBAIT!!!! Just more (seen so often) old footage, blurred footage and footage so poor that it isn't worth watching! Disgraceful how so many KZbin channels are milking this great fighter's past video/film and bootlegged (impossible to identify), library. If you really respected this man, you wouldn't be stealing all this old footage - THAT WE HAVE ALL SEEN, SO MANY TIMES BEFORE!

I think he would have been decent as a boxer or kickboxer in his weight class. In modern mixed martial arts not so much. He wasn't training for that situation though, he was about showmanship and being a movie star, which he excelled at.

2:44 this is proof one of the many proof why bruce lee was the strongest fighter ever in history and i mean the strongest height and weight never makes you more powerful, stronger,or anything he was untouchable the fastest and would win against anyone in their prime like mike tyson, muhhamad ali he win and even if prime tyson and prime ali team on bruce he will still win he can defeat armies of people he was the greatest and if you think there is any any fighter that can beat him currently your a stereotype. W bruce lee rip❤🔥🔥🔥🤩

He was quick, athletic and strong for someone his size, plus had spent most of his life practicing fighting "techniques". He would undoubtedly do some serious whip ass on the typical bar or neighborhood bully and I wouldn't want to be a mugger who tried take him on. However, he never trained full contact and would have gotten clobbered taking on an MMA guy or full contact karate fighter. Full contact elevates combat abilities way past non or semi contact martial arts training does. I do think Bruce was a talented athlete, if he trained as a full contact fighter, I have no doubt he would have been a top rated fighter if not a champion. He had that kind of drive, ability and "eye of the tiger".

Lee vs Ali? What fight? Boxing rules? Or Two in the Ring and one goes out? By these thoughts i allways imagine a meeting with Ali, Lee and Arnold (all three had their Sporting peaks that time), would be the best talk ever about body, barbells, strenght, moving, show etc. The top Sportlers of their sports, Lee the Martial Artist, the World Heavyweight Champion in Boxing and the Mr. Universe.

I can't say how Bruce Lee of then would do in a modern UFC fight - but nothing like UFC existed back then. If you could bring him through time to see modern fighting, he would probably study it for a time, reconfigure his entire repertoire, train like a maniac and hop right in.
