As a teenager born in Hong Kong speaking Cantonese, his pronunication is definitely impeccable and very correct. His way of spoken Cantonese has never been affected by English.

I don't know why but I didn't expect Bruce's Cantonese to be this fluent. On the other hand, he was making movies as a child actor in Hong Kong in the 50s already. In the recording, Bruce mentioned about a scene in which a song should be written about "the ways of martial arts". I wonder if Bruce ever considered asking his Golden Harvest studio mate, Sam Hui, to write it. Vincent, you probably know who Sam is. It seems Bruce and Sam had a quite a friendship. Even to this day, Bruce's daughter, Shannon, and her daughter (Bruce's granddaughter), often appear as musical guests of Sam's concerts in the US.

@@dannytse8767 Yes, that's right. I remember a few years ago, Sam Hui invited Shannon Lee to his music concert in Hong Kong and immortalize Bruce Lee. Honestly, Bruce Lee's cantonese is definitely accurate and fluent. As you know, Bruce Lee lived with his wife and both son and daughter. I'm pretty sure Bruce had no chances to speak Cantonese before he moved back to Hong Kong in 1971. So, I think it's quite amazing to see he speaks cantonese very well even most people around him speak English.

Yes & because I know the story(s) I watch his movies without English-Dub to get that emotional content not felt in dubbed movies (Which his English was dubbed by others except ETD obviously) & did you know Bruce also spoke Mandarin & Japanese not fluently but quite good + bit of other dialect's Thai etc (Big Boss filmed in Thailand) luckily as so many languages spoken during making his movies especially on set of ETD.

Bruce Lee to me is like this huge, legendary icon, so far beyond that of a normal person like myself that he can only be admired from afar. But the first time I hear him speak in cantonese, especially the first line, about father mother (lol) I felt so much closer to him, the familiar rough sounding typical informal cantonese, it's like having a conversation with one of my friends.

Why I like Cantonese and Japanese is because there is an emotional content in the form of the language. It doesn't sound like they are singing per se, but that the tones move in such a way that what they say, they can express clearly and without any extra filler without being rushed. ALLAH made more smaller things than ant , spider etc etc these are signs of Allah . 7 ) think about hair cells , your hand hairs have limit of increasing , you eye hairs have limit of increasing , your head hairs have different limits so this shows that they are made up of same cells but controlling not by you and not by that cells but your creator Allah . 8 ) we say speed light is fastest , ( after researching to a limit by scientists ) before research they were thinking about any other thing, may be Tomorrow they will think about any other thing. = > now we should think the creator ALLAH who made light and properties of every matter , how much ALLAH the creator is faster and powerful . 9 ) As we know " Energy Can't Be Created Nor Be Destroyed But May Be Transfer From One Body To Another " who made this energy , from where it comes from . JESUS is neither a god nor a son of God, = > JESUS WAS A MESSENGER OF ALLAH before jesus birth , people follow whom , before prophet jesus people follow prophet of that time like Adam , Moses , Noah , Abraham etc . Americans are dubbed in some other countries. There is not enough time to learn a language for a film. There are so many markets all over the world. I guess you prefer reading subtitles. I never had a problem with this, in fact, it helped me learn more about other cultures even European dubbed films.

@@RamyGd I noticed that when I was a kid in the 70s. They were voiced by him in Cantonese. Those particular films were not for the US Market. ETD was the only film he did for American audiences. Like European movies (Westerns, Peplum, Eurospy, and Giallo) Just look at "Django" 1966 Franco Nero's voice is dubbed, then watch "Django 2" he uses his real Italian accented voice. I work in the film industry and This is what he meant by "sound issues", The sound was added after filming because there is no "quiet on the set" and you need punching/kicking sound effects. I've never heard him speak in Cantonese before. Assuming this really is him, he is speaking the correct and authentic Cantonese particular to his period without any filler words or words borrowed from English, except for "cut" and "section". His speech is as clear and fluid as his moves. RIP Bruce. After you, there's Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Jackie Chan, but even now they are now in their 70s. After them, there is no more. They are the last of the great generation.

At a point in his life Bruce began his journey into Martial Arts (back in his young hong kong gang days) and reached levels never before imagined. I think he was born an artist though. So he already possessed an innate sense which served him well in that quest and developed further along with it. I’m from HK and I just realised I have never heard Bruce Lee spoken in Cantonese, so I searched up and found this. It’s very interesting and funny at the same time because the way he speaks, the tone and words used are very old fashioned and some words were more like written Chinese forms, which we would find it strange in today’s conversation. But i guess that’s the way people speaks Cantonese in the 70-80s . But I am almost in tears just to hear him speak in Cantonese , a mix feelings of like listening to an old friend speaking , although I was born a long time after he died.

Made me realize how legendary impacted my life in the late 80s and early 90s my dad (Mexican side) introduced me to him by watching all his movies collections n lost video tapes he had of his and other Kung fu movies. ...even tho I'm chinese n Laos n Thai not even my mom wasn't fond of him...my dad would do his workouts as a kid he was almost as fast as him almost ran everyday to this day because he knew that was one of Bruce's training...and growing up as a teen n early adult I already knew how to use bow staff, tri staff, sais, kali sticks,and katana sword, nunchukus without having someone to teach me I ain't lying!
