In a literal sense, the bigger they are the harder they fall indeed. Imagine being. 350 pounds and getting just tripped. You'd hit the ground hard. As opposed to a 150 pound guy getting tripped. He'd bounce right back up.

@HardHardMaster

ex0duzz boxing is very close to actual common street fighting, and despite what most traditional eastern martial arts fans want to believe, closer than any other martial art or combat sport. boxing training, skills and techniques are extremely effective, which is exactly why it was part of combat training and practiced for thousands of years and still is to this day. high kicks are generally overrated especially for poorly trained fighters, they require flexibility, precision, speed, and perfect timing and balance, so that means they are not preferable in a street fight, which is usually fast and messy with a lot of pushing, shoving and tripping...and mostly punching. with the possible exception of groin kicks and knee kicks, most popular low kicks are designed for long matches and have poor stopping power. most traditional eastern martial artists are poorly trained to deal with full contact punches. Ali went a full cross style match against shootfighter Inoki who resorted to laying on the floor on his back and kicking Ali in the legs (hard!!) for the entire match. Ali withstood the constant leg kicking and Inoki was clearly aware that the moment he would stand up Ali would knock him into the next life. so he was on his back the entire time, and it was his only defense against Ali's boxing skills. it's always traditional martial artists who never in their life fought any boxer or streetfight, who want to argue that boxing is incomplete and therefor not suitable for streetfights or selfdefense, and that kicks could easily stop a boxer. the brain error is in the comparing of a ring fight to a streetfight. the same error Bruce Lee made. a boxer against a kickboxer (whatever kind) in a drawn out kickboxing match has a huge disadvantage. the same is true vice versa. a boxer in a streetfight has a better chance than a kickboxer. boxers are specialists, they are limited in their techniques but experts in the most common and effective ones. most boxers know a lot of dirty tricks too, but ring rules prevent them from applying them. to think a boxer in a streetfight could not kick someone in the nuts/shins/knees or punch his throat or neck, or elbow/headbutt his lights out is a mistake. he could do anything any normal person could pull off, just a lot better and more effective.

@@brucelee-oy4hv Sorry you are wrong, Muhammad Ali was 6 feet 3 inches. The brawl in the TV studio was not a real brawl, nobody threw bear knuckle fist at one another, it was all hype to promote the up and coming real fight on pay per view at world wide live cinema, then followed by international television broadcasting Royalty Rights. Muhammad Ali had numerous street fights in real life, he fought against racism practically every day in racist America. Mike Tyson too has had real street fights against professional, Mike Tyson real street fight against Mich Green in Harlem, New York City. The same year June 1988, Mike Tyson had a real fight with Chuck Norris, the Karate man. Mike Tyson knocked out Chuck Norris out cold within 2 seconds by head butting, for trying to mess with his then wife Robin Givens, Mike Tyson camp paid Norris an out of court settlement, this information is now public. No way can a actor in fictional Kung Fu movies with ZERO real fight wins beat the Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World in who is an expert with his fist in Martial Arts, Muhammad Ali wins all day long, the real Greatest.

HERE IS AN ANSWER FROM BRUCE LEE HIMSELF: Another time Yeung, aka [Bolo] went to see Bruce at Golden Harvest Studios. Bruce was screening a Cassius Clay [Muhammad Ali] documentary. Ali was world heavyweight champion at the time and Bruce saw him as the greatest fighter of them all. The documentary showed Ali in several of his fights. Bruce set up a wide full-length mirror to reflect Ali’s image from the screen. Bruce was looking into the mirror, moving along with Ali. Bruce’s right hand followed Ali’s right hand, Ali’s left foot followed Bruce’s left foot. Bruce was fighting in Ali’s shoes. “Everybody says I must fight Ali some day.” Bruce said, “I’m studying every move he makes. I’m getting to know how he thinks and moves.” Bruce knew he could never win a fight against Ali. “Look at my hand,” he said. “That’s a little Chinese hand. He’d kill me."

@@brucelee-oy4hv Boxers cannot beat just regular MMA fighters. Ramsey doesn't supply proof of his claims. He thinks "training" is going to save you. There is no "training" on the streets because the thug is coming at you from out of nowhere. It's not a SPORT! you have to react to danger as it happens. So this guy is fake. All youtubers that do not accept challenges for a street fight are merely offering opinions but there is little science behind them to prove the claim. The proof of their belief is in demonstrating it. In a street Boxer would get submitted. That is why Conner McGregor (ironically a fan of bruce lee and a great striker) couldn't do anything to Khabib. (uses wrestling and can strike fast - this is science! Ironically what bruce was saying about the traditionalists: they needed to ditch the fancy flashy moves and concentrate on efficient movement - this was due to it not working in street fights when challenging other people. Most likely an english boxer beat his ass when he was young trying to use kung fu on them and this awakened him to the need to only trust in scientifically proven techniques not on traditional "wisdom". The IP Man series alsways has boxers as the bad guy hahah Maybe Ramsey say these movies and got pissed and so he made this video out of anger. Then accuses his audience of "getting angry" all the time. It's a ad hominem attack. He wants to paint the picture that anyone who has valid criticism of his belief is irrational and only disagreeing based on emotional outburst and not because he doesn't prove his belief scientifically) You see when someone is dead and can't respond to the critic that is still alive, they become an easy target for the one that is alive. He promotes sports as "realistic". Simply put it's not. Street Fighting is the real thing. That is what Bruce was trying to show in his books by pointing out that you should not apply any restraint when dealing with other street fighters because you can never assume they are not trying to kill you. In sports the opponent is not trying to kill you so you have to hold back your deadliest attacks. (no breaking arms, biting ears, or crippling the leg to immobilse an agile fighter) Now Ramsey says: "if you try to bite me I will simply break your arm because you made me angry." Why would a thug be scared of you breaking his arm when every single opponent he fights already goes into a street fight knowing that they are ALLOWED to break arms, crack a guys skull with crowbar, or stab you with a knife if they think they are losing? BTW Mike Tyson actually did bite ears when he was losing so street fighting prepares you for the dirty fighter. His comment about Bruce action scene being fake: Yes the movie scenes are fake but that is ENTERTAINMENT. His books is where his real stuff is. So go by the books not the movies. Low IQ fighters thinkg TRAINING is what makes you great. No it doesn't. You could be highly trained but low IQ. And you go into a street fight thinking the opponent respect you. No they will not always respect you. They may want to kill you because they are criminals. Criminals do not care if they die fighting as they have nothing to lose. Their boss will kill THEM if they don't do what they say.

I’m getting to know how he thinks and moves.” Bruce knew he could never win a fight against Ali “Look at my hand,” he said. “That’s a little Chinese hand. He’d kill me." www.maxim.com/entertainment/bruce-lee-muhammad-ali-ronda-rousey-2016-6

The problem is the context is unclear. Was Lee talking about a no-holds barred fight or was he talking about a boxing fight? If boxing then absolutely he’d lose. In an actual fight... well he has a chance as boxing is very limited. Based on him talking about his “little Chinese hands” my guess is he was talking about boxing. The fact that he was studying Ali’s boxing style also is indicative that he was talking about boxing. With all this said, Bruce Lee unfortunately never lived long enough to see the UFC. I think he would’ve been shocked to see how easily boxers have been beaten in fight and how effective grappling is. Yes, I know he knew about grappling. But I think he overestimated boxing and underestimated grappling.

Things that are WRONG in this video 1.The definition that a street fight isn't a real fight because they are not trained fighter is WRONG, you can have 2 train fighters in a street fight. 2. In a fight with NO RULES Muhammad Ali will win, shit no rules even I can win. That means weapons and illegal killer moves are allow. 3. Muhammad Ali is only professional at boxing, he wasn't trained outside of that field, never had to even deal with something as simple as people attacking below the waist. 4. Weight doesn't mean accurately translate into strength and in performance it's always about strength/weight and endurance. A 240 IB man that can only deadlift 500IB VS a 185IB man that can dead lift 750IB has a HUGE performance difference. That 185 IB man with no skill might just as well destroy the 240IB guy with no skill in a fighting sport. In a fight with NO RULES where illegal moves are free to go anything can happen both sides so Bruce Lee can beat Muhammad Ali but in a boxing match Bruce Lee will get beat up.

Your research is wrong. Lee said he would lose to Ali with boxing rules. But, he would kill Ali with no rules. I paraphrased the quote, but look it up. Mike Tyson already said "Bruce Lee is a Killer". End of debate. I wish I could remember which book I read it in but it is a distinct answer from Bruce about him vs Ali. For some reason it's nowhere to be found when I try and google it but I remember seeing it clearly. He said in a no holds barred fight with no rules he would "kill him". Bruce admired Ali and knew that Ali had all the ingredients to be a deadly opponent. But Bruce trained specifically for a fight against someone like that where anything goes, no rules. Plus he was already smashing boxers bigger than him during his training and he only sparred all out, full contact. He is on record stating that he fears no opponent in front of him, so the whole "blood ran cold" when he saw Ali is a bunch of crap.

If it was to survive a life or death match, Bruce would do whatever is necessary (weapons, biting, pulling hair, hitting in groin) to win. @Master Ding Dong Now what kind of a ding dong stupid statement is that? Bruce Lee's fame began back in the Green Hornet days in the late 60's. There are pictures of him signing autographs for American youngsters. His Green Hornet character Kato also made him very famous in Hong Kong. When he travelled to Hong Kong in 1970 with his son, he was surprised to have been greeted as Kato. And of course he made several movies before Enter The Dragon that made him even more famous before 1973. And going back even farther, Bruce Lee was also getting famous in the martial arts community with his debut at Ed Parker's Long Beach International Karate Championships in 1964. The tragedy about you is that you are the dumb fuck and you are deluded by thinking you're smart. A pity. Maybe a therapist.

@@Tannhauser62 Well, the Oxford dictionary defines "fan" as "a person who admires somebody/something or enjoys watching or listening to somebody/something very much," and the same dictionary defines "fanatic" as "1. (informal) a person who is extremely enthusiastic about something," and "2. (disapproving) a person who holds extreme or dangerous opinions." So there seems to be maybe a difference in degree with 1. and a more sinister and irrational sense of the word with 2. I think the latter sense of "fanatic" is meant more so when people are being called Bruce Lee fanatics, especially by persons who are not all that impressed by Bruce Lee, so there is a kind of difference in my mind.

According to Robert Clouse, the director of "Enter the Dragon," he visited Bruce Lee while he was shadow boxing while running a film of Muhammad Ali. Bruce said he had to study Ali's moves, because people expect him to one day fight Ali. Clouse asked who would win. Bruce straight up said, "Are you kidding? He'd kill me! Look at his hands! Me, I've got these little Chinese hands!" That is a word for word quote from "The Making Of Enter The Dragon" by Robert Clouse, which I believe can be purchased on Amazon. (And don't blame me for the culturally or racially insensitive remark towards Asian folks. First I'm Asian, second Bruce said it!) Now, if Bruce himself admitted that he would lose to someone who massively outweighed him while still displaying dazzling speed, had years of full contact experience, and was a world champion(!), then fans who still insist that "Bruce could have beaten Muhammad Ali" are (sorry to put it this way) only fooling themselves. One could say that is harmless fandom, but those same folks are also liable to join cults and believe in absurd conspiracy theories, as well. (Sorry!) See things as they actually are, not as how you would like them to be.

I am more versed in Jeet Kune Do than you as I’ve actually studied it, not just read about it. Finally I was an amateur boxer with over 60 fights so I can see things from both sides. My opinion is objective and informed. You don’t know what you’re talking about and you should read a book on physics so you can learn about leverage, torque and the relationship between mass, velocity and power. Ron Sexton Oh Id laugh as well. Especially when you see some sort of tacticool girl doing her fancy moves on some big brute guarding something. In reality, if she was going to try that, she wouldn’t have enough momentum to really damage the brute with her body, unless she had very small hands or feet with very strong bones and a lot of fast twitch muscle. Even then, it’d be hard to hurt the brute simple because of his mass. Momentum is velocity x mass. There is a reason mass is used in the formula, but she could hit as hard as the brute if she could punch with enough speed.

I know this is an old video, but I trained in JKD from one of Bruce's "descendant" students. The "real fighter" philosophy was there, but like you said, I didn't actually train, nor did I have the desire to be a "professional fighter." It was geared towards "self defense." However, that being said, I have an interesting experience. After a couple of years of training with this particular instructor, I had my ego stroked and quickly rose to the "advanced" class. Thinking I was actually a good fighter by then, some guy from a boxing gym across town came down to check out our school. The teacher invited him to our Saturday kickboxing and sparring session. We would do the "Bruce Lee" thing and get all padded up with our boxing gloves and do some "medium contact" sparring. Thinking I was pretty awesome, I got matched up with the boxer. Long story-short, I got my clock cleaned and thoroughly embarrassed. I landed a couple good roundhouse kicks, because he wasn't used to the increased range of kicks. But he quickly figured that out and repeatedly "rung my bell." Shortly after that, I lost interest in continuing the training after coming to the same realization. I was not athletic enough to compete with an actual, well trained and experienced professional fighter. Even after my teacher offered me an assistant instructor position. I simply didn't have the time, nor the dedication to train that much. No matter how "awesome" you think you are, there is always someone bigger and stronger that can just sit on you and you can't do much about it.

I agree with a great deal of what you say. One exception, though, is your assertion that street fights are not fights. The very definition of a fight is a heavy altercation. The level of one's skill, or lack thereof, has nothing to do with whether the altercation is a legitimate fight. A couple of guys swinging at each other in a parking constitutes a fight, regardless of how much their skill may suck.

That was my thought, too. The primary motivation of some students of martial arts is to be able to survive a street encounter. In the ring, the reward for winning a fight includes some mix of a title, a trophy, publicity, and payment. On the street, an opponent at most wants only one of those things (payment), but also has a primary desire to pummel you. In a professional bout, an opponent is likely to withdraw if it becomes apparent you are badly hurt. In a street fight, there's no such limitation. That, to my eyes, makes it real.

The mental gymnastics that Bruce Lee worshippers do to convince themselves that he was unbeatable is just fucking hilarious. They ignore the fact that weight plays a significant role in combat, they ignore the fact that Lee never fought professionally, they ignore that fact that he didn't have extensive grappling knowledge, and instead they cherry-pick tiny individual things like "he did some really fast kicks in his movies" or "his mates said he was really strong". It's just insane. Yes, Lee was extremely talented, yes he made some game changing films, and yes he has a great legacy, but it's time for his cult of followers to grow the fuck up and realise he was not superman.

Bruce Lee couldn't beat Ali in his dreams let alone in a real no holds barred combat. A martial arts "practitioner" vs a professional "fighter" in a "fight"? No brainer! How can someone who trains on how to know to fight but never fought an actual fighter beat someone whom fights for real against real fighters and fighting for a living under pressure and emotional entanglement? It's nebolous and egregious to even think that let alone believing it!!!! Martial arts is a dogmatic crystallization as in order whereas fighting is adaptation of chaos as in disorder.

Two interesting things: speculative 1) I believe Bruce Lee had made a comment once that if Muhammad Ali were to punch him face, he will get killed. 2) Supposedly Bruce Lee and Muhammad Ali sparred before. Muhammad Ali was a influence on Bruce Lee. If Bruce Lee fought Rickson Gracie, he’d lose and then go train with him. Going off of the Professional fighters that trained with Bruce Lee like Joe Lewis the kick boxer, they comment on the the fact that 1) Bruce Lee’s Training increased their skill set dramatically. 2) They speak about how he out performed them and could easily beat them. As far as Street Fights, trained professionals, you also have to factor in martial arts like Krav Maga. They’ve taken professional fighters in and had the ability to beat them due to the fact that they train with variables that ring and cage fighters don’t. Adapting to various environments, weapons, multiple attackers (empty handed and with weapons). Most of them were prior military and had to use these techniques in real life fighting people who are actively trying to kill them. Just because they all aren’t professional fighters doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have skill sets that couldn’t beat a pro fighter. Now being a Pro Fighter, your percentage rate for survival in a street fight compared to the average person, is a lot higher. Fighting in the context of the rules of your environment, cage or ring fighting, you’d beat them. Fighting in a no rules, anything goes environment, I’d give it to the military Krav Maga practitioner from Israel over a pro fighter due to the variables of street fighting that they consistently train in (multiple attackers, weapons, multi faceted environments) and they are actively engaging people trying to kill them and in return killing their opponents.

Vindio Villarroel ... A true Krav Maga practitioner, takes full strikes to the face and body from empty hand strikes or weapons from your instructor and multiple attackers at the same time. That’s the only way to verify that you can accurately defend yourself. Just like a Pro Fighter wouldn’t train doing 1 point sparring. When I trained in Krav Maga we used no protective gear and trained where we took elbows, knees, fists, at full speed to the face & head, the body, and the extremities. There were no tap outs when you were put in a choke or submission. You fought your way out or you got choked unconscious. I broke three ribs in training, and kept training. Real Krav Maga training isn’t gentile or family friendly. It’s aggressive and violent. Now a pro fighter is a highly tuned athlete who will fair better then the average person in responding to a street confrontation and has a higher percentage of coming out of it. Especially situations that mirror his preferred fighting conditions. Bruce Lee wasn’t a Pro Fighter yet pro fighters and martial artist that trained with him will all attest to the fact that Bruce Lee could not only beat them when the sparred, also in devastating fashion and to the point where he would toy with them. You don’t have to be a pro fighter to be a highly effective street fighter.

As Ramsey said " If the lights are still on " Now, Bruce Lee was amazing & I wouldn't say just because someone is bigger than him they would win the fight, but at the same time we're not just talking about any heavyweight. Ali was next level boxer of his time. He was so fast & had reach on Bruce & it would only take one good Ali punch to the side of Bruce's head. I think it would take a hell off a lot more for Bruce to take down a man who can also take a punch from a heavyweight.
