The version I heard was when Vince was bringing in Jerry as the man to replace himself, Jerry walked right up to Bruce Pritchard like a man and said, "what do you do around here? If I do take over for Vince, you will be the first person I fire". Now that sounds more like the truth don't you think?

Bruce is still butthurt from 1993 when Jerry asked him "What exactly was his role in the company, and Bruce couldn't provide a definitive job description". Jerry then asked Bruce why did Pat Patterson even have him around? Had Vince gone to prison, Jerry, and it's on record, was going to take the reins, thus, he would have made some cuts in the company, and Bruce knew he was one of them because Jerry didn't mind getting his own coffee!!! Which at the time is about what Bruce's role was. Several key people in the WWF at the time, including Jim Cornette and JJ Dillion have made similar comments.

You need to watch the video again and listen. Bruce said "I never blacked balled anyone in my life, I'm not going to start with you" Bruce said "I" not "WWE" As in, Bruce didn't go to Vince and tell him that Tom should not have a job. Jarret claimed it was Bruce that blackballed Tom, not the company or Vince as did Tom. This is between 3 people, Tom, Bruce and Jarret. Vince had nothing to do with this.

Bruce's dislike for Jerry stems from the fact, Jerry told Bruce if Vince goes to prison, one of the first things that would happen is Jerry would see to it he's out of a job due to the fact he's useless.
