I can confirm that “She’s the One” has been on pretty much every setlist during the 2023 part of the tour. If Bruce makes any changes I don’t think this song will be one of them!
@jamessinacore699110 ай бұрын
Exactly right. Bruce has She’s The One about halfway through the setlist on every show on this tour. It works really well live, as you saw, and it’s definitely a crowd favorite. You shouldn’t be disappointed David! 👍

Hoping Bruce changes the setlist up A LOT on this next run. But he can always keep She's The One!

@vacantalleyways as long as Thunder Road doesn’t go anywhere (my all time favorite) I’m perfectly ok with any set 😅

@@HandOfFateNH I'm jaded I like a lot of change ups in the set from night to night! Sometimes it's great sometimes not so much, but anytime you're out at a Bruce show it can't be too bad!

As not yet being a patrion I have no right to complain, but JFK I would have gone with the Capitol Theater version August 1978 with the Not Fade Away intro . That performance blows this one away. And I do have a voice because I was standing 2nd row in front of Bruce with the performance of Barcelona

Great job, David! Nice reaction. You nailed it. The song really builds to a crescendo! Love that Bo Diddley beat. Sometimes Springsteen plays the harmonica on the outtro and really rocks it. Great concert tune! Thanks, David, and keep up the great work!

seems fitting you react to this today as Bruce's Mother passed away at age 98, oh, if she only knew what she was unleashing on he world on that September day in 1949!! Great review, no better words in music when you said "let's see what the Big Man with the sax is going to do with this"

This song is played with a guitar riff that was developed by Bo Diddly

I hope you get this song. We saw him this tour in Chicago. My husband videotaped me during this song....he got a kick out of how much I enjoyed it!!

This is such an awesome song! This is track four on Born to Run. He'll sometimes do this thing during concerts where he'll play a full album from beginning to end. I highly recommend you look that up. It's awesome! I love doing that because some songs that I don't think are so great on their own come alive when one an album. Like a somber song sandwiched between two high energy ones.

I think this comes from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_in_Barcelona_(Bruce_Springsteen_video) from 2002 in Barcelona. "She's the One" is originally from Bruce's third album "Born to Run" from 1975. Most were members then and now (except Patti Scialfa). He aged? Yes sure but pffft
@DrBrianSmithDC10 ай бұрын
This is basically the album version. He's done it several different ways live through the years. On the Born To Run tour, Bruce often did the intro on harmonica leading into the piano. On the Darkness tour, Max played the intro with that Bo Diddley beat and Bruce worked Buddy Holly's Not Fade Away and sometimes Them's Gloria in to the song before the piano & song proper. The version you'll see will be pretty similar to the one you just reviewed. Hope the Mrs digs it.

The tempo from those early days is unmatched. That version from the Hammersmith Odeon show is as good as it gets.

I just love the energy you get from this song! And as others have said, look for it to be played after Because the Night. And you might get some harmonica in it also.

Classic Bo diddley. U2 copied it in Desire From rattle and hum. Think there even is a video of Springsteen and the band Singing “Bo Diddley” in the verse or chorus

Should check out the 2023 tour version, the intro is slightly different and Bruce's guitar over the piano is really nice.

What I like about your channel is the amount of thought and actual feeling you show. You’re incredibly detailed and that sets you apart. Your old rating system worked for YOU, David. Just ignore the complainers. Please go back to your old rating system. Because a simple 4 star review on this masterpiece of a performance seems…well uncharacteristically lazy….with respect sir.

On the '78 and '88 tours, the opening was drum driven. I think The Rising tour went to a more standard "album version" of the song. When it was first written, there was a third verse following the bridge and can be found on the 2-5-75 show you can easily find on youtube. The official release ends after the sax solo, just like here.
