Forgive me my poor English. My grandfather told me a story when I was very young : Once a wise one put his head in a well... He was born, lived an entire life and passed away. The wise rose his head from the well, maybe this video's time had passed by. The moment ye'll be reunited, on the River Missouri's bank, I'll make sure to be in the distance. God may bless ye both.

My dad told me when I was about 16 years old "son, I want that song to be played at my funeral". At the first of October of 2020 he passed away. After two years of fighting a brain tumor. I made the captain of the ship (cause it was a sea burial) play this song, when we put him to the sea. It was more than perfect. We went to so many Springsteen concerts. The River Tour in Milan was his 9th time he saw THE BOSS live. Thank you dad, that I'm a Bruce Springsteen fan. I'll never forget you!

I am so sorry for your loss of your Dad. and how beautiful, how fitting this song for him. And how beautiful that you honoured your dad and his wishes. He rests in Peace, and has most likely traveled the Shenandoah Valley.

My condolences, Patrick, but the valuable remembrance of good times of enjoying Bruce's concerts together with him may comfort you, I guess. In as much as I'm concerned myself, I visited many excellent concerts with my mother, and I still bear this in mind, after more than 13 years now. Such memories are a cure for our soul for the rest of our life, aren't they? By the way, I released white balloons for my mother.

i don't know if you have any involvement with the music area, but this Music will be available, for recording. They even have the translation of lyrics, which can be used, as a basis, to be fair in "English", "Español", "French" or any other language that one wants to sing. I am her "Composer", but as I did it exclusively for the female voice, whoever is singing is 'Raphaella Bonffá' a friend of mine. I am Brazilian from São Paulo, computer with hundreds of songs in my language (Portuguese) and now, I want to internationalize my music, myself translating my songs into several languages, Especially, English and Español, which are the languages I study. And I study artists and music too, from those languages. My goal is to expand my work, to achieve, that is, to take Brazilian music to be recorded already directly in English, Spanish, French, as I am trying to contact with "Chloe Stafler", "Shakira", Maitê Perrone ", and many young American singers, such as: "Billie Eilish", Kat Bein, Tatiana Cirisano, Leila Cobo, Bianca Gracie, Lyndsey Havens, Tamar Herman, Steven J. Horowitz, Carl Lamarre, Taylor Weatherby, Bailey, Robbie Robertson, and Redbone. So, if you are in this class or have access to some artists (woman or man), you can help me get in touch with some of them very grateful focus. Okay? This is Bruce Springsteen's tribute to Pete Seeger - and folk music - which he does with his superb band - the Sessions - and immortalises Pete - American folk music - and the America we love - but have lost. In a sense it's a wake.

I never did see or hear Pete Seeger singing Shenandoah. I saw and heard Liam Clancy singing the song accompanied by imagery from Ireland, which I thought was a bit of a lark. It is my understanding that the song, a shanty, was wrote and song by French Canadian fur traders who carried out their on and along the Shenandoah River, circa. 1850.

Great stuff by the boss. I rewrote the lyrics a bit and gave it a try. Not Bruce worthy but still another take on this Heartland classic. Peace… m.soundcloud.com/bobborealis/oh-shenandoah
