Well Bruce doesn't show this guitar side often and maybe he spent months perfecting this. I'm giving him so much credit for this but this alone isn't putting him in the pantheon. He's got to prove it more than "all night". ...
@nishihundan12577 ай бұрын
LOL, listen, he's definitely no faker. He's not just using the guitar as a prop. But come on, his playing is adequate. Trying to make him out to be anything more than that is a joke. He engages is a lot of theatrical "rock star" playing. You can always tell when a person isn't a virtuoso but they try to make it seem like they can really play. A lot of fast, repetitive single note playing and flailing arms.

I saw him during this tour in 78 in Philadelphia. The best concert I have ever seen, not even close. As evidence in this live performance, he is epitome of what true showman is, he owns the stage! He is so animated and passionate; his guitar playing is truly incredible. Belting out the lyrics that he could ever write to songs that only he could ever compse, with a band that is second to none. Each does exactly what they are supposed to do. I watch this video over and over again and can now hear it playing in my head when no music is playing. This was from my favorite album. Four hours of the most powerful songs I have had the pleasure of witnessing. He will never be matched again. God bless Bruce!!

While I agree there is skill in both, not very many metal guys can sit down and write a fitting solo to a slower song. There is a reason why more people know who this guy is than they know who guys like malmsteen are.

In my mind it's THE greatest album. It's the album that kind of defined where I waned to be musically and is the first album I'd heard that really spoke about the dark side of our mundane everyday lives. It's an album about wanting more for yourself and fighting to get there. It ain't a beauty of an album, but it's alright.

The greatest live rock n roll band in history - Roy Bittan's virtuoso piano playing was the glue that held it all together. Timeless.

The E Street Band are utterly peerless and you are spot on about Roy's influence on the vibe. The cat was a shamen!

Really the opening is a moment that epitomizes the end of an era in 70's rock and just before the 80's. Peak experience stuff.

Wonderful to see this all these years later. As an 18 year old in England in 1978, I followed his US tours via the rock press and bootleg tapes sold at record fairs. When I finally got to see him in London in June 1981 it was like the chairman of the fcking board was in town. Never will I forget the total rush of my first Bruce gig.

I was the same but a few years later. Times were much more exciting back then going to the record fairs and finding the latest bootleg. I spent a full week`s wage buying Satans Jeweled Crown box set on CD a few years later.

Springsteen Live is the BEST! This is one of those live tracks to crank the volume as high as possible while driving the Garden State Parkway, as you head over the Driscoll Bridge (you won't get that if you're not from NJ or been to the Shore) and then let the pedal-hit-the-metal and never see the speedometer ever drop below 80 mph and you might just get to that Asbury exit before the track end....

First saw him live at Los Angeles memorial sports arena October 29, 1984. I was 17, my senior year in HS. Greatest night of my life up to that point. Born in the USA tour, 3.5 hr concert, ticket price $16. Paid $20 from my teacher who scalped them.

People forget because of lofgren and van zandt..but the boss shreds just as well! He doesn't wanna hog the limelight and they compliment each other perfectly..the 'secret' to every great rock 'n' roll band ever..fooking love this.

I have no doubt in my mind Bruce can actually prove it all night.

I always thought the boss was a little underrated as a guitar player he can shred when he wants to
@owenrees75445 жыл бұрын
A LITTLE underrated? There's still people out there who think he only has the guitar as a prop, like Elvis!
@tambi2275 жыл бұрын
A few years back I was at a show and they played Lost in the Flood. Bruce can still shred I assure you lol.

He is underrated because he rarely does solos like this one. Also Stevie and Nils are just way better.

Was lucky to snag tix to the Brendan Byrne arena. He played with the band for over 4 hours and then came out with an acoustic and played another hour by himself. Over 5 hours. Unheard of today!
