You and me too! My uncle bought an army surplus Jeep when I was about 5 ot 6 and he let me help fix it up and even taught me how to drive it. In the cow pasture not on the road! I went on and had my own farm equipment business when I was 14 and finally ended up as a fleet maintenance manager for a multi-national company before I retired 24 years ago.

100 percent. My boss' father borrowed me some days for me to "be hands" for him when I was 18 because he had gone arthritic. We got a model t to run and worked on other classic cars and equipment over that summer and I would drive them around the property. Over 30 years later I remember those days fondly.

Hi Bruce and Mr Cameraman, you guys are amazing, the old machines you get going never ceases to entertain me. These old Japanese trucks were built to last, and the engines, although large, weren't endowed with power commensurate with their size. The fact that it started straight away didn't surprise me, before I retired, I drove Japanese trucks for 10years and they were very reliable. Regarding getting the UD out of it's resting place, I think after starting like that, it wants to get going again and I think it deserves a chance at life again!

I remember around 1974 a friend of my fathers bought a brand new Nissan UD turbo bogie drive tip truck, was one of the best buys he ever made he reckoned, it went for years. Back in those days Japanese trucks were laughed at in Australia. I was amazed how long that white shirt lasted for too. Great video, I am getting to learn your step by step methods before the time comes to start the engine too...

Bruce great commentary as per usual. Everything easily explained. I’m not a petrol head but older trucks and cars with simple engines make for a little less hassle compared with newer ones where you need to log it into a computer and get diagnostics readings from it to find the problems. Keep up the good work. Oh please do a follow up on getting the truck out of that quagmire. Hopefully Sammy Spider and friends will have not rehoused in the cab by the time you return. All the best from an Irish viewer here in Dublin Ireland.🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
