Bruderhof

12 жыл бұрын

In Germany and around the world, the years of 1933-1938 were tumultuous. In Germany there was increasing pressure on the Bruderhof to conform to the National Socialist worldview. This segment tells how the Bruderhof spoke out against the Nazi government, refused mandatory military service, and did not allow their children to be taught by Nazi teachers. The segment culminates with the flight from Germany to Liechtenstein, and then on to England.

Will say this for Eberhard and the Bruderhof, among German religious groups, their skirts were clean as they didn't collaborate with the Nazis the way the leadership of the Catholic and Lutheran denominations did!

Brave people in the community of all professions and ages, God gave them the power to resist and see what was going on around them as they chose to live in the truth of the commandment to Love one another and seek the peace of the Kingdom of God and not bow to an oppressive evil force and it's agents whom were known for cruelty to fellow man.

God will even use an item of furniture to keep believers safe, and He ensured there’d be the right person to recognise the name of a past, much respected, tutor! 🙏🙏🙏

"Homage to a Broken Man" meant a great deal to me. Reading of the suffering, but strength of those who fought for a life of brotherhood and what they sacrificed moved me deeply.

For all those who died, were murdered or killed admidst a police state which exists more so than under the Nazis it is wonderful that the Bruderhof were able to have afforded themselves the luxury of living as they did, as for me these matters are painfully distasteful in what it was better to have died rather than to have survived as some did, in what they have not trully felt as they could have gaining from the experiences watching others as to the meaning of their empty rhetoric & paltitudes.
