It occurs to me that Groups like (G)I-dle and LE SSERAFIM with their recent strong feminist concepts are at the forefront of a significant cultural shift in Korea. Just a few years ago nobody would have dared airing these kinds of messages on TV. The conservative patriarchy is being shaken to the core over there and i'm beyond proud to stan. 😁 Underwater is on my top 10 list of this year for sure! Musically it reminds me of the dancey tracks from Chungha (highest praise) combined with the instrumental intricacy of past IZ*ONE releases.

The way I interpreted the man in Kwon Eunbi's Underwater is that he's the captured sailor/swimmer. Drawn in by her call and song, willingly sinking down to the bottom and giving his last breath to her. His motions and dancing are like him swimming under water and his thrashing is his body rebelling against drowning until she takes his soul and he joins her in the deep. Songs and flashing necklaces/shells brought sailors to sirens in the stories. She's pulled him in and trapped him. Also, her bsides are fantastic this album and the second mini album, that includes Glitch, is also fantastic.

The title Nxde currently has another purpose. It was Soyeon who explained it herself in an interview. In Hangul, the Korean writing system, their group name, (G)-Idle is translated by « 아이들 »which can also be translated as child. Now, when a Korean searched for "Child Nude", he will come across photos of the group and their performance and especially the teasers of the album with the phrase "Why you think that 'bout nude? "And no longer image of the content he was looking for. This music was made to filter internet searches in Korea.

Nxde was insane. I'm not sure I dig the music, but the concept was great, the video was epic and the girls all looked stunning. Blonde shuhua is something else. I feel like a lot of girlgroups are gonna try and sound like le sserafim in the future. Their confidence is insane for a rookie group. Le sserafim, ive and billie could be the 4th gen's new leaders. Itzy always nail the ending pose, and I don't think they could have topped in the morning as far as girl crush goes, so I'm glad they're going back to their poppier roots.

Antifragile sounds like reggaeton bc it was produced by latinas hahaha. Also the genre itself is very distinctive, the drum pattern, the seamless transition into the chorus, the melodies (like when they kinda speak-sing), etc is what defines reggaeton, very simple but enjoyable. idk it was such a nice surprise from lesserafim I'm considering stanning them also bc I'm in love with chaewon hehe
