Fishmen being discriminated makes sense! Everything about the ancient kingdom besides the poneglyphs are submerged, and they have the best chance of uncovering the past. The world government can’t do anything about that since it’s already considered dangerous traveling underwater even with a coated ship. So the world government tricked the world into thinking fishmen are bad, weird, etc. so even if they made a discovery no one would listen cause of their bias towards fishmen.

I don’t know about you guys but I think the void century never happened. It’s happening right now. The current story of One Piece is the Void Century. Luffy is not Joyboy but instead Joyboy is Luffy. Some with call him Joyboy in place like Wano, others will call him Nika the sun god in Elbaf. Joyboy who sent a letter to the Mermaid princess that he couldn’t accomplish his promise is literally the promise Luffy made to Shirahoshi. The evil King who was torturing the small people from Dressrosa and enslaved them was Simply Doflamingo. When Roger laughed when he discovered the One Piece who else makes us laugh as much that clown Luffy? Remember Roget said he wish he was born in the same era. We don’t know if he meant the past or the future. Also Shanks, Crocus and Rayleigh also said Luffy was the One they were wait for, that the hat fit him so well. It’s quite simple that hat has always been Luffy’s. Momonosuke will learn to write the poneglyhs from his grandfather, Robin will help him and also create the Ohara kingdom, I think I will be Vivi who might acquire the devil fruit power to send the poneglyphs in the past. They sent them 900 years earlier to prepare for that we are living right now. In a funny way, Veganpunk could actually be the one who originally created the devil fruits or mother flames. He is simply not aware of it. I also think the reason there was no king on the throne of Marijoie is because the 20 Kings were aware of this and decided to avoid this war by swearing that no one should be on that throne but Imu managed to get a throne and tried to shape the future. I mean trying to make a backstory for the void century would take years and Oda said the story would end soon. We are already living the void century. The advanced technology in that one Vegapunk created.

This chapter is another testament to how Oda's writing is so wonderful. Even though we now have the truth about the world being intentionally flooded and how it was such a major disaster, we still have no inkling as to why Roger laughed despite knowing about this catastrophe in detail. Haters or skeptics might chalk it up to setting misleading expectations for the level of stakes involved, but one thing we know about One piece is that knowing the facts and experiencing the emotional weight of the story are entirely different things. We knew that Nami's hometown was being controlled by a tyrant, but we didn't know her struggle to rectify it. We knew that Brook had experienced fifty years of isolation, but we didn't know of his connection to his crew and Laboon, and therefore his connection to the Straw Hats. We knew the struggle of the Minks on Zou to drive out Jack, but we didn't know of the sacrifices they made for the sake of their comrades. This restructuring of known things into emotional payoff is what Oda excels at, and the fact that the stakes are now at the world level sets the bar higher than ever before. Even knowing this, and even with my skeptical self in mind, I have absolute faith in his ability to turn this situation into an absolute emotional peak because he's implemented this kind of writing technique so many times. What a time to be a One Piece fan. Goda will deliver, and I believe it will be after Elbaf and into the final war.

This is a thing most writers want to do as it helps the story feel real and adds to the worldbuilding. None of these characters are insignificant . They are places we have been to and people we have meet and people for whom we are gonna fight the world government. They have had thier own stories even after strawhats left and will do..this is just a big event that they are witnessing. I have theory. What if back then, like the present day. Even when the civilizations are advanced. War is still rampant, hunger are still everywhere. Joy boy who got tired of it, went to the sea. As the first pirate, he encouraged anyone who is tired of that harsh life to set to sea. Imu who on the otherhand was tired about it as well . But he had another idea in mind, which is what if you just isolate everyone from one another in islands. Since for him, humans races and everyone can't go well w one another. So he used the ancient weapons and made peace in the world in his own way. Leaving him on top to overseer the world. Two idealogies. One wanted to find a new way of life. Wanting to be free from everything. One wanted to change everything and mold it to something that can hold peace.

So to summon this up. The ancient Kingdom was technological advanced. They were able to fly to the moon apparently. The territory was the landmass below the current Grandline. That's why so many Porneglyphs are there. Some even down below as we saw in Jinbeis Coverstory. The allied nations might have been powerful as well and had a numerical advancement. They got their hands on some of the weapons and created something that made the sealevels rise 200 meters overall. The only thing in the One Piece World that could have such an effect would be the Redline. It's a huge physical barrier. Which would claim ocean space and force the water which was repressed by it to rise the overall sea level by 200 meters. This would destroy most of the natural habitats known to mankind and also all of the known records. So the survivors could then rest on former Mountaintops which became small islands. It leaves the question who did they manage to erase the knowledge in the eyewittneses. Did they only let small children survive? Or did an awakend Devil Fruit User with Puddings DF use her ability to alter the memorys of everyone else? Did Maron Cricket while diving in the search of Shandora find remnants of the ancient Kingdom? Was Impeldown build as a prison Tower and after the 200 meter water level increase became an underwaterprison? How did they defeat Joyboy and how long did he live? 100 year fight and he was an adult then the war started? Was this possible thanks to a DF or his race?

I feel Nusjuro's cut was impressive, but not unreasonable. The cloud material from sky island came a few types, and among the types you could stand on came in a consistency like earth (common) and a refined version with consistency like iron (final priest of Enel). The cloud he cut was likely the common type, putting the scope of this slash on the level of Mihawk cutting the frozen tidal wave. Post timeskip Zoro has had a few attacks of similar scale, like his ougi vs Pika and his Enma-enhanced Hiryuu Kaien that cut off an Onigashima horn. However, these were big straining attacks from Zoro, and Nusjuro's seems less strained. Not a "casual" attack, but "serious" without straining. If that makes sense. The other thing we've seen close to this is Law "breaking the gear" at Punk Hazard, but that was more his df power than his swordsmanship. Overall, seems that Nusjuro is higher in swordsmanship than Zoro (to our knowledge, since he hasn't used Kyuutouryuu while 'understanding' Conqueror's coating), somewhere in the realm of Mihawk (that we've seen). On top of that, immortal with mythical beast transformations. Very strong.

I don't know how almost everyone missed it, but that panel during when Oden's Dad was talking about how Wano is actually a giant bowl that filled up with water and we got that cross section panel showing it: If you look at the current ocean level outside of Wano, it's actually higher than the Ancient Wano inside the bowl.

The “flip-flop” of morality in the One Piece story has always been great for me. The story starts with bandits bad/pirates nice then pirates evil and are mean to Koby then marines bad Capt Morgans evil back to pirates evil and Buggy took over a town. Oda continues to write the story as there is good and bad on both sides and it’s all about perception.

this chapter was worth the wait. so few answers which create a billion of answers. we know now that the world of one piece was pretty much alike ours before the ancient weapons caused its destruction. what I ask myself now is, did the giants, fishmen, long arm tribe, long leg tribe, etc. all these different specieses mutated because of one or all of these weapons being used ala world of warcraft style where some night elfs turned into nagas as they where near the explosion of the well of eternity? if these weapons can raise the sea levels by 200 meters and distord nature on an extend where everything is uncertain on the now open seas, then that is not too far fetched I would say.

I think Vegapunk's statement about the ancient weapons being responsible for the sea level rise makes the theory that the WG DO posess Uranus and DID use it to wipe out Lulusia extremely plausible. I originally thought, when the acient weapons were mentioned, that Luffy would be the one to posess all of them and use them to his advantage in the final war. But in hindsight, this would make him ridiculously overrpowered. Would it be a war or a flat-out wipe? Now that we've seen Caribou offer to divulge information of pluton to Blackbeard, I think there will be 3 major factions that will compete for the throne (though we probably knew that much), AND ALL of them will be in posession (or friendship) of one ancient weapon. That sea-splitting arc is gonna be insane

After reading this chapter, I have a certain speculation. Luffy might not get a bounty at the end of the chapter, and the reason is that the world government will probably no longer exist. I think the whole idea of Luffy being the man with the most freedom on the seas is something that revolutionizes the concept of a pirate. Out of curiosity, I searched for the origin of the word "pirate." It seems that its root is the word "peîra," which has Proto-Hellenic origins and means "to try, risk, or attempt." So, pirates are basically those who attempt. What do they attempt? I would say they explore the unknown and, to be a bit lyrical, search for the truth. This description also matches what Vegapunk said about Joyboy, the first man to sail the seas. So, pirates are not as evil at the end of the day as the world government tries to portray them. Showcasing them as the root of all evil suits the world government in order to hide their own crimes. This is pretty much what happens in the real world, someone might say. So, if I am correct, 0 berries for Luffy and his beloved crew at the end.

A question this brings to mind is Is Enies Lobby the location where the Ancient Cataclysm happened, or where Joy Boy was struck down? The way Vegapunk talks about the Mother Flame sounds to me like he's just scratched the surface of what it can be used for, so if you compare Lulucia to Enies Lobby you can see the difference in magnitude if you assume the weapons used were similar. Where Lulucia was destroyed and rose the sea by 1 meter, whatever took place at Enies Lobby rended a hole in the planet that the ocean has been draining into since it happened and STILL shows no sign of filling up

What doesn’t make sense though is.....after the WG won, why didn’t they try to hunt down an kill Luffy as soon as he start getting famous. I mean, after he started making a name for himself, it was obvious he ate the Nika fruit, also he wore a straw hat similar to Joyboy. So it’s like why didn’t they go after Luffy from the beginning, especially if they already for hundreds of years tried so hard to keep the truth hidden, I mean they even killed people who know or rather spoke the story about the Sun god Nika. But yet they let Luffy run amok all the way up till now. It wasn’t untill he awakened the fruit, the Elders decided to take action have the Cp0 guy let luffy be killed by kaido. Which lol led to the fruit being awakened anyway. I just hope Oda explains why the WG didn’t take action after They knew Luffy ate the fruit. I’m only assuming they didn’t know Shanks stole it from them.

Sorry for the long response, lots of arcs to cover I think we can agree he first became famous after enies lobby, they thought they sent the buster call, Aokiji and Garp after luffy. After enies lobby the coup de burst into the florian triangle which is hard to pinpoint and the strawhats lost the marines before then anyway. During thriller bark, they didn't really know and thought they sent Kuma after luffy. Then in sabaody, luffy started chaos before the elders or any higher ups would have known he was in sabaody. But once they did know they sent kuma, pacifistas (their new weapons), kizaru and sentomaru, unluckily the rest of the worst generation was there along with rayleigh and also Kuma was on luffy's side. The big reason they didnt send stronger and more people is because they were preparing for the war (this applies to thriller bark and sabaody). In marineford, they really did send all they could. During the 2 years, luffy was hiding and rayleigh was said to be notriously good at this. In return to sabaody, sentomaru came back with a bunch pacifists but only because of the rumour, so ofc they didnt send that many. Fishman island is big mom's territory, so world government can't reach them Then since strawhats being at punk hazard wasn't guaranteed having it be covered by g5, vergo and trafalgar the shichibukai is pretty overkill. Especially considering how marines arent supposed to be there and the underworld ties along with doflamingo's ties. Dressrosa they sent the admiral fujitora, with doflamingo recently quitting, the situation is complicated, expecially after fujitora started publically misbehaving and doflamingo was beaten. They did send sengoku though, but still dressrosa is probably the least easily explainable for why the marines didn't send more (they knew in advance after all) Luffy escaped to zou where we assume the world government cant go and also didnt know of luffy's whereabouts. Same with WCI (also they cant send anyone to a yonko territory) They sent whoever they could to wano, but they knew it would probably not work out given the short notice and the strength of the pirates there anyway. So yeah overall i think they did send what they thought were appropiate responses. I assume many people have had the nika fruit, maybe someone 200 years ago, given that the robot turned on then as well. So this is why the world gov was so slow. The real reason i think is that luffy's power is winning people over to his side and also that fate is a huge part of the story.

I don’t think the sky laser that destroyed lulusia actually destroyed the island. I think that weapon might push land deeper and compacts it to the bottom of the ocean. People follow log poses and go straight from one island to another or they get lost and most vanish, we have heard this. What if there are holes all over the ocean causing all the strange currents and weather patterns and we’ve just not seen them based on perspective??
