See the result of advances in AFM instrumentation on DNA. It is now possible to visualize the helical characteristics of DNA physisorbed on a mica substrate. Guest Speaker Alice Pyne is from Dr. Bart Hoogenboom's AFM group based in the London Centre for Nanotechnology, University College London presents the latest findings including images of DNA helical structure obtained with Bruker's PeakForce Tapping mode.
PeakForce Tapping mode, implemented on Bruker's high performance AFM's such as the MultiMode8 and the Dimension FastScan Bio, enables researchers to regularly achieve sub-molecular resolution, including direct observation of the DNA double helix, without the need for specialized probes or restrictive AFM designs. Dr. Andrea Slade discusses the principles of PeakForce Tapping, as well as presents the latest breakthroughs in high-resolution imaging using PeakForce Tapping Mode including DNA, membrane proteins and cell receptor mapping.
