Thank you so much! Everything worked great! I had initially bought the motor with no positioner because reviews said it was difficult to get it to work. I am so glad I have it now! Your instructions were perfect even though I have a different machine.

I’ve done this twice now. Time it like a car engine. Install all the parts then try this. Steps: 1. Setup the motor to spin the correct direction. 2. Setup for needle down after sewing, then press the pedal so it goes to the “needle up position”. Now add 2 pieces of painters tape, one to the positioner and one to the metal adapter that spins with the hand wheel. Mark a line across both parts; this will be your timing mark (aka needle up position). Basically every time you press the pedal backwards the timing marks will line up. Now just loosen the positioner screws set the takeup lever to the fully up position then tighten with your timing mark lined up. Done. Hopefully this makes sense to you.

Thanks for the video. I appreciate you taking the time to do these for us! I’m enjoying my new ‘slow’ motor very much. This needle position synchro will help too!

Happy to hear that.

Great video information Steve. I had the needle positioner but got frustrated with the results of it so disconnected. I’m much happier with my machine now. I know there are pros and cons but I’m liking it without at this time.

Glad it helped. Also, we used 80 grit sandpaper, but finer will work too.

Can these be fitter to a Pfaff 545? I can't see where to mount the bracket on my machine.

What size allen wrench did you use for adjusting the screws?

Can this positioner be added if I already have a CSM3000

Do you have to make final adjustments with the wheel on the 1181 too? Thanks

Yes.

What do you mean by “heel tap”?
@Sewinggold2 жыл бұрын
Press your heel on the front of the pedal closest to you.

@@Sewinggold my heel doesn't tap anything. the only motion i get a response from is toe-down. i just adjusted it for variation and remain without a "heel tap" option on my unmodified DNU 1541 S. is there something wrong i'm doing or not doing?

@@chrisdineson I also have the same machine and same question. I'm going to order one of these right now so it should be here soon. I think that you have to use the adjustments in the middle of the rods connecting the pedal to the motor. The pedal can be adjusted so it is "floating" so to speak. If you lengthen the lower rod, it will allow you to push the pedal down at the heel. If you have it hooked up right now, I think this will fix your problem. 1. Make sure the machine is turned off. 2. There are two rods that are connected in the center with small bracket and a bolt. Loosen the bolt. You don't need to take it all the way off, but you can. Just loosen it until the point where the rods are no longer locked together. 3. Push the pedal down a little bit, and you will notice that there is a gap on the heel side of the pedal. Place something in this gap and you will be able to let go of the pedal. 4. Re-tighten the bolt in the center of the rods. 5. Test. You may need to adjust it a little bit more, but that's basically what I plan on doing when I get my new motor. Please let me know how it goes. Thanks.
