Pre queensberry, boxers had very long careers with lots of fights because you cant hit like this without the wraps, you punch more carefully and accurately ensuring the right knuckles make contact rather than just your fist because your hands without wraps, are a mess of small bones. Full props to bare knuckle championship fighters but its not literal bare knuckle of the early 1800s.

It was pretty sick, and it is then I decided to not do any martial arts, at least not competitively. He got out with a baseball bat. He was beaten half to death once the bat was taken away. He ran into a field. My buddy his parents had his car towed. So I guess there was one time of the use of a bat. But between friends we regulated how far a fight would go. And the next day we acted like nothing happened.
