*I just played through Zelda EoW, and I absolutely LOVE IT!! It far exceeded my expectations, and I pray they make a sequel or side-story. I love the temples, puzzles, the ability to use your own methods to complete objectives, the map, the story, the music, and the environment. It was very diverse from a typical Zelda game. 5/5* 😊👍

Yeah, the only major flaw I've run into is the 1 massive list of echoes. There should've been an object list and an enemy list. Objects are primarily for puzzles/exploration while enemies are for combat. Perhaps a favorites bar like Mario maker you can adjust as necessary.

If the Zelda team become fully understood the criticism and how storytelling is very important, I hope one day they will make a Torna-esque TOTK side story where we get to see more of Zelda’s journey in the Era of Hyrule’s Founding and the grim realistic tone of the Imprisoning War (or Sealing War in Japanese) with contents from the Master Works (Hylia entrusting the Sacred Stones to the Zonai, The Age of the Gods, Mural of the history of Ganondorf, and the Temple of Light) that helped better the game’s plot with Zelda as a playable character. Additionally, make the Ancient Sages more fleshed out, provided King Rauru more screentime, connecting events that lead up to the First Great Calamity, and to make more appearances for Kotake and Koume that‘ll fused into Twinrova.

Brutally honest asskissing, no mention of the tedious menu usage as you search through a side scrolling list for a specific enemy or item, every several seconds as that's the entire base of the game. The amount of reused puzzles and how much of the game feels like it's just tipping its hat to the better games, the open worldness again leaving no feeling of increase of difficulty in encounters or puzzles. SPOILERS BELOW. I honestly thought it was pretty fun. It wasn't all that, it was more low-key, but still filled in some pretty important information in Zelda Lore. I feel like this game should have been, well bigger. Not in scale necessarily, but the Still World is admittedly boring. I was hoping we'd get like a REAL Dark World. I do enjoy however how we (although limited) got to interact with the Golden Goddesses. I hope they play an even bigger roll in the next Zelda Title. I thought playing with Zelda would be clunky, but I actually got a good handle on her early on fairly. What really made this game for me is that Link's AI in the final battle is so good, that it felt like I was playing Co-Op. I appreciate thay Link was at the top of his game, whenever he was aiding Zelda. I also think the the Echoes are managed pretty well imo, or at minimum, I was able to manage them pretty well. I was able to come up with a lot of creative solutions to most puzzles, and it felt different enough from ToTK to me, and that's mostly because the systems don't really work the same at all. Honestly trying to compare them comes of as a real lazy comparison. Last thing thag comes to mind for me, is that I feel like Zelda in her regular state should have some form of sheild. Not being able to guard at all times really sucks. Overall, I'd give it a 8.6/10. Would've been higher but I wasn't a fan of the Faron Temple, that one wasn't really all that fun. Almost being saved by the Deku Scrubs, which I found to be the funniest of all the races.

It's not a bad game, a totally fine game for Zelda to be the main character of. I just wish it wasn't so hand-holdy. Give me cryptic hints like "To the west, the Gerudo Desert calls" or something instead of telling me step by step exactly what to do and who to look for. Still would rather have a traditional Link game, but in terms of overall score, I give it an 8 so far (just starting the 2nd dungeon so I don't think I'm too far into the game). The echo menu is a bit tedious, the puzzles and problem solving is okay, the hand holding is getting old fast, but I am definitely enjoying the map layout and overwolrd exploration. I still like the artwork style, and I think that the dungeons are an improvement over BotW's beasts (still not as good as traditional dungeons, imo). I hope they make a DLC pack that focuses on Link's story leading up to saving the Princess with more traditional 2D, top-down LoZ tropes and dungeons. Would be an awesome way to hit some of us whiny OG fans with a little love, lol.

It's made for kids who can read and older. I know this because my kid isn't even 6 yet and has trouble playing. You can snap to specific categories using the Y button, and even things like the cost ones are useful when you want a low cost echo and hit left to loop to the start of the cheaper ones. Combat is incredibly fun when you understand the X button can freeze your opponents for your echoes to kill easily, or your own echoes so they can be used as a meat shield. I'm enjoying it more than Links Awakening remake.
@CertifiedClapaholic3 ай бұрын
@HeroC14 appreciate the reply 😁. I know those little tips and tricks, but even with them, I still find it tedious. It's akin to the water temple and iron boots problem, imo, except it runs all game and gets progressively worse. The combat is definitely more varied than Link's Awakening (My favorite game in the series ever since playing LA:DX on the Gameboy Color), but I'm not sure if it's the experience I want for every LoZ game moving forward. I am enjoying it for Zelda though because she wields the Triforce piece of Wisdom, so this conceptual version of taking down the obstacle of enemies fits. I just think they need to separate the two approaches they are trying to balance by using each character as their means of expressing one play type vs the other. I hope they go back to their tried and true method when Link is the main character and this more BotW/Hakoniwa style for games where Zelda is the main character. Or maybe separate them by 3D Open World vs 2d Top Down, Idk. Just hate the idea of throwing out the old formula that a lot of fans love just because it wasn't their original vision. I definitely understand the direction they took it with BotW because of Shigeru's desire from day 1, but I think Shigeru needs to continue appreciate the child he developed instead of throwing it away for the child he wanted to develop. In other words, why not both?

@@CertifiedClapaholic You're complaining about some non issues. Back in 98 OoT Water Temple wasn't hard, and it got 10s all around. Pausing and continuing was fixed by Grezzo in 3D thanks to the touch screen. Zelda has always had pause and equip gameplay and they've done nearly everything they could to mitigate it. People are used to this menu style from TOTK as well. Lastly you can still play with the sword and shield here and that's part of the combat.

This is only a knit pick but my experience so far is a very good one. I felt like although the story takes center stage this time, the way it all happened so quickly sort of threw everything for a loop. I felt it could have been fleshed out more maybe? Felt also Zelda not being recognizable under a hood was a little bit silly and that other tribes would not know who you were was also laughable. But who knows maybe the relationship between the races is different this time? Taking into account plot and narrative structure it all works out in the games favor. It just feels a bit too easy maybe? But I have had fun so far and the spiritual aspect seems to also have returned placing a focus on the goddesses again which I'm interested to see how it turns out. All in all a good game.

Just to say that I'm a big fan of the franchise! To be honest: I'm really dissapointed with Echoes of the Wisdom: it's way too easy. There's hardly any puzzle throughout the entire game which took me longer than a split second. There's hardly any boss in the game that killed me. I never felt the need to buy smoothies. It's just ridiculously simple, compared to EVERY other single Zelda game in the past. Pitty

They made Zelda a silent protagonist in this game? I don’t think I like that. I feel that doesn’t distinguish from Link enough

Actually she does talk but it's basically like watching a TV muted,you hear no voice but you see the natural gesture movement we make when speaking.

@@brandonacevedo9574 I didn't realise you played Zelda in The Wand of Gamelon. But when you look at it. It's "Link: The Faces of Evil" and "Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon". It's not The Legend of Zelda X Y Z. Interesting...

This game looks like a nightmare to play. I want to like it so bad but I just can’t. Also, I prefer extremely limited dialogue, not “cute” story.

I just got here so you haven't told me I'm wrong about this yet, but it just suddenly hit me how hilariously huge of a troll it would be to have the entire game played as link except for like a 20 minute section they mined for the trailers. A mob of angry nerds would march on Nintendo HQ but it'd be amazing.

So you say in the title, no spoilers. Yet immeditely start showing story beats. Makes no sense. The reason I clicked the video was to see it the game was worth the price tag - that's what I would expect in a no spoiler review, not immediately tell us the beginning of the story. 🙄🙄

BOTW still the best game ever. TOTK was just a boring upgrade in my honest opinion. Not such a fan of this one either. After 2 hours playing, quit the game and started playing something else. Don’t like that echo-thing. Like to fight battles myself… Nope, sorry Nintendo, i’m not convinced…😭
