I'm pretty sure the CMLL promoters must have only known that these luchadores still take bookings and figured "well, surely they'll be able to have a cute nostalgia match" - boy.....they were wrong. Also, Cuatrero got tripped up on the ropes during the run-in to end the match (EDIT: Ayyyy, that's in this video). That was probably the highlight of the match. 2nd edit: So, these guys were pretty much retired. This makes me wonder why the fuck these guys got booked into such a match. And why there wasn't some agent telling them "look, just do what you can instead of shit that just ends up exposing you" - also, CMLL had another show just now with multiple legends matches. OOF. When will they learn? None were as bad as the one in this video, but damn. Also, Canek still can't walk down the stairs by himself. Someone should tell him "hey, you can just go in through the side, you don't need to use the stairs, champ"
@samuelpurata457
@samuelpurata457 6 жыл бұрын
not really, all of those guys are retired, this match is from the cmll event "tribute to the leyends" and one of the traditions is to have a match with some lucha libre leyends, but the 2017 edition was lame as it could be

I like Vinny a lot. But him contending that Rebel vs. Shelly was worse than this actually kinda annoys me. Yes, the finish in Rebel/Shelly is _way_ worse. But just watching these old men putter around the ring, vaguely hitting each other with shoulder tackles or whatever those are supposed to be is so agonizing to watch. Plus this match went longer. I dunno, to me, a full match of this kind of “wrestling” is so much worse to watch than a short women’s match with a couple bad botches.

Were there no young wrestlers that this company could've teamed with these older guys for the match? You know, let the young guys do most of the match and then let old veterans get their nostalgia spots in for the fans, like what is done with some tag teams when one of the members isn't that good of a worker. I know that is what the Great Muta has done for some of his matches since he is very old, which makes sense considering no one wants an old legend to get injured.

Mr. Miniguy well from what I heard from WrestleTalk is that it was an good match but the crowd was horrible. I don't believe that but I will believe the crowd for ruining this match. Chanting CM Punk and Random Mexican chants. If I was there, I regret going there.

Maybe my standards are way too low, but did anybody else think that the chain wrestling showed between Canek and Dos Caras Sr. was fine? I hear Bryan talking about how glacially slow they were moving and I just see two wrestlers doing chain wrestling. I mean, it was nothing mind blowing but it was nothing awful. Can agree that the rest of what was shown was absolute garbage though.

Between this nonsense and the mess AAA is in, I think it's safe to say Lucha Libre is at a big low point in it's history. Saying that though, this match was probably the inspiration for the recent Undertaker matches...

Man, honestly , the match didn’t look that bad as they were saying . Dos caras and camel were slow to get up , yeah , but the actual grappling seemed fine. It no worse than your run of mill lucha tbh. Also, they shit on these guys for 15 mins and then end it with “they are legends and they are legends for a reason” wtf

Master Knowledge no one is saying the match was good but it certainly wasn’t the abomination that this vinny guy is playing at . You have to grade these matches on a curve . No one buys a ticket to see a bunch of semi retired wrestlers and expects a wrestling clinic . They’re not that much worse than undertaker is but they are acting as though they’d never seen anything worse and that’s not cool because we all know they have
@purodeathcore

The miracle and yet again i couldn't disagree more you comparing this to taker is laughable because even at his least mobile he could do more than this..... hell giant Gonzales could do more than this, no i didn't expect a wrestling clinic i expected a passable wrestling match so to hell with all that "grading on a curve" jazz they don't get special treatment

Ray DB first thing. Jeff jarette is a great wrestler. Vampiro is garbage i agree. But AAA has a OVERALL better show on a weekly basis. Also cant remember the last time i saw vampiro wrestle anywhere lol
@codenamepelon
@codenamepelon 6 жыл бұрын
PROPHECYTHERAPPER Jeff Jarrett is good for 2000 WCW standards lol, not for 2018 lucha libre, specially when they have so many great athletes in their roster. I guess it makes sense since AAA has been playing Vince Russo for a while now, just look at the match JJ won to become their top champion, it was a fucking overbooked mess. CMLL is pretty good, no overbooked bs, just solid wrestling. All the wrestlers in this match are great legends, just way way waaay too old
@PROPHECYTHERAPPER
@PROPHECYTHERAPPER 6 жыл бұрын
Ray DB have you seen jeff jarette recently? He can still go. Hes always been a good wrestler. Jumping and doing all that acrobatic stuff is fine but its not the only way to wrestle. Also hes a very nice guy outside the ring lol. AAA is better in MY OPINION. You are entitled to your own.
