So the reason that saw's so clean is because I took it apart and meticulously cleaned it myself. Trust me it was a dirty, oily, sawdusty mess! I've sent you maybe 4 or 5 saws so far I think and as far as I'm concerned if I'm gonna send you a saw to work on the least I can do is clean it up as best I can. Nevertheless, my apologies for the oily mess. I bought a Pro Mac 10-10 a few years ago on craigslist and the guy also gave me that Super 2 and an XL2 so I have no idea what the saws have been through. Leon your know-how of these Homelites is amazing man. Thank God for people like you. It is such a pleasure watching you go through these repairs and learning what you did to get them fixed. So for anybody out there with an old Homelite that you'd like to get running again get in touch with Leon at (support@leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com). Trust me guys, the man knows what he's doing! I love learning from and watching these videos. Great work as usual sir!

Thanks Bryan! Don't worry about the oil...you did all you could. In this case, it helped me track down a problem that could have been there most, if not all of this saws' life!

Thank you so much for this video. I’m restoring a super 2 and I desperately needed to see the spring placement on the trigger.

Very good, detailed video. I would advise anyone buying the replacement stud to buy 2 of them. They're a soft metal. I fabricated a couple of them by welding a small piece of strap on the head of a 1/4"-28 Grade 8 bolt. I saved the components to make another one if I ever need to.

I didn't realize you could get a 20 inch for a super 2
@LeonsChainsawPartsAndRepair4 жыл бұрын
It was apparently for a 240 or 245, but has the same mount. Not a chance you should do it though!

Does that super 2 can handle that 20” bar ? 🤔
@LeonsChainsawPartsAndRepair4 жыл бұрын
Not a chance! That was apparently intended for a 240 or 245, but even then I'm not too hip on it. It was just handy for this test!

An xl2 and super 2 should be able to handle 16 inch bar no problem but 18 to 20 no
