Hi what I do for a pellet test for any gun I hand pick my pellets as you know some pellets can be slightly deformed so as a true test of accuracy this is what I recommend but brilliant video Andy great watching thanks regards Jim.

Best rifle I have ever owned. 177cal SE right handed walnut. Shoots 16.2gr beast 21.33 ft pounds. Super accurate with everything over 10gr. ES 13 to 20. SD 2 to 5. Depending on pellets and shooting 30 shots. This regulator works! I haven't done a thing to it but shoot it. Hi, from the USA. 😁👍 Nice rifle by the way. You guys need to get together and change the rules in the UK. Nothing wrong with sub 12. Its great for shot count. But at the same time it's out dated. There's absolutely no reason to limit power to this level for grown men. I would petition for at least 80ft pounds. 100ft pounds is better. A. 22 long rifle is capable of 150ft pounds! It would help with more humane kills and 100 yard target shooting. You guys build quality Air rifles. You should be able to use them. God bless you brother. 🎯

Thanks! We can own air rifles above 12ft/lb, however we need a Fire Arms Certificate. I am a bit envious of your gun laws! I hope you guys manage to resist any change. All the best from the UK my friend.

Hi Mark. Sorry it has taken a bit of time to get back to you. To be honest work got in the way and I forgot. Like most things in life buying a rifle is all about your budget. At the lower end, I am loving the Reximex range. I think the BSA R10 is a good rifle and there are some good tuners out there such as Phil at Ratworks who can make it even better if you want that extra bit more. Well worth looking into after the manufactures warranty has run out as a good tuner will guarantee their work. The HW100 is a machine and has been a constant for years. FX Dreamline if you fancy a bit of Swedish wizardry and finally the AGN Technologies range from Czech. These are what I currently either own or want to get hold of for a play, however there are plenty of other options e.g Brocock, Air Arms, Air Maks the list goes on. Another way forward would be to get a second hand R10 and send it to Ratworks for a service and a tune! Hope this helps

ive been shooting air rifles for 45 yrs and bsa guns are not a patch on what they used to be,,ive known friends of mine who have had the mk1 like yours and mk2 's and had no end of problems straight from the factory with regulator problems,air leaks and so on,why should people have to take them to gunsmiths and have them changed and tuned,they should be perfect from the makers considering the price you pay for them,not the old school bsa quality like days gone by im afraid.
@gardenguns3 жыл бұрын
I think if I was buying new I would go for an HW100 over a BSA. As a second hand purchase though the BSA is definitely worth looking at. There are some awesome tuners out there.

Not my experience at all. Bought a R10SE brand new. Its the USA version. I shoot it weekly since March of 2020. Not one problem. I've never cleaned the barrel. Consistent and deadly accurate. I absolutely love this rifle.

Not my experience. Bought a 2nd hand R10 mk2 in.177 and it's never missed a beat. I had to put a new O-ring on the probe but that's it. Shorty silencer and a Hawke scope. It drills crows at 25 yards every time

do you know enough to do a video timeline for the R10...? how does it all work? when did they switch to a MK2 ? and is the new R10 SE TH considered a MK2? or is there a MK3 now? would like to know a bit of the history as my dads bought one second hand but wants a left handed stock for it, but not sure whats changed and when, will any R10 stock fit? or are there variations we need to know about? sorry for all the questions ive just ordered myself a R10 TH and am now trying to learn as much as possible...good vid btw :)
@gardenguns3 жыл бұрын
Hi, glad you enjoyed the vid. The mk1 r10 has a distinctive bull Barrel. Basically exactly the same as the one in the video. The Mk1’s could do with some regulator work. The newer versions of the R10 don’t seem to suffer from the same reg issues. Best place for in depth information will be one of the Airgun forums. Try www.airgunbbs.com as a good place to start. Sorry I can’t be much more help. I am not an expert on the R10’s history and development. I do know that they are one of my favourite Airguns though. Hope you and your Dad get as much pleasure from yours!

The gun first appeared at the end of 2009 , there were so many issues that many got recalled and it was around 12 months before the tweaked r tens started to appear in gun shops , some were fine some were utterly flawed and kept leaking and having drops and rises in power . Personally I've never had an issue , however I did get a full time up and reg replacement by rat works and I did notice tighter groups at longer distances and an increase of twenty shots on the overall shot count .

Great vid .. subbed
@gilly2bad3 ай бұрын
You have a new sub. Great Video! Considering the cost of BSA rifles brand new they seem to need so much done to them. I'm a new shooter with only 4 rifles (Snowpeak M16, T-Rex, Walther RM8 walnut and a Rexemis Pretensis in walnut) and 2 of them the Walther RM8 walnut and a Rexemis Pretensis easily match the BSA R10 grouping at 40 yards. My M16 at 30 yards matches the BSA R10 too. Not had a single issue with any of them. A new R10 cost as much as all my rifles combined. Just saying.. 😁

@gardenguns3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Justin. I know there were issues with the R10 MK1 reg. I haven’t heard many horror stories about the current version. Air arms produce some great rifles. My favourite is the S200. Not much can beat it for the price. The HW’s are the BMW’s of the Airgun world. They perform. It is the stock and the feel of the rifle when you shoulder it that does it for me with the R10 though. My Huntsman is the only thing that challenges it in terms of feel.

I've had many r tens from the very first batch to hit retail about 13/14 years ago , I was lucky because I never ever had an issue with the reg on it , furthermore Ive had early mk 2s ,late one and even the r 10th and the regs were completely fine , 15 FPS variation over 10 shots , I only charge them to 200 bar and only shit 8 10 shot mags for consistency reasons . If you are going to buy second hand use common sense , if you know a reputable shop and they guarantee that it's been serviced and checked before going on sale it's worth a serious consideration . If you have a mate who's selling one ,make sure you know him well and get him to chrono it in front of you , plus if possible take it for a shoot , if there's one advertised online or in the back of a magazine be very very weary and give the rifle a thorough check over with a chrono , personally id avoid that scenario .

Hi Derek, thanks for the feed back. From a 230 bar fill down to about 130-140 bar I get between 80 and 100 shots. The rifle is pushing JSB Diablo’s and Hades 15.89 grain out at approximately 11.8ft/lb. All the best
