🧡💛💚💙 98% of this was great and on the mark. However you guys completely missed the future value of smart contracts and decentralised assets. People want to OWN their own thing. You might not think we need to decentralize ownership of things (social media, brand, value, games) but there is a world economy out there that does. If the market didnt want it, Ethereum and other markets wouldnt be crawling towards the market cap of Bitcoin. I do appreciate and value this podcast and all you do. We agree on 98% of everything its just this final 2% where the smart contract debate gets heated between Bitcoin & Ethereum dudes. I believe the world is free and the market will decide whats valuable. Thanks guys

Bitcoin has smart contract though. I stack sats however I also trade ETH and other shitcoin here and there but the gas fees are just outrages when converting shit coin to shit coin. wanting to send 100 usdc out of my wallet and it'll cost 20 bucks to send it out.

In 1931, during the Great Depression, while the U.S was still on the Gold Standard, people who had money accessible were hoarding because they were worried, and a number of people couldn't access their funds from Banks because these Banks who had gambled their depositor's money had squandered their customer's deposits lending to people on margin. In the city of Yorktown Virginia (it may have happened elsewhere as well), the bankbooks from customers of banks that had been shutdown were monetized as what they called script, trading them at a discount to the value of the deposits because it wasn't known if they could recover any value from it. This script was a form of fiat currency, so it seems that under extreme circumstances, a need arises for money to circulate. There were arguments back then to go "bimetal" so that a dollar could be based either on a fixed quantity of gold or of silver, the ratio of which would depend on available quantities of these metals in reserve.

Despite agreeing with most of the bitcoin upside discussed, I am having a real hard time envisioning the path forward for bitcoin to be the new world foundation after reset. The main reason is China. Anyone got possible hypothetical pathway over that hump?

Mark, NFT's save real-estate owners and investors time. No two pieces of real-estate are the same like which 2 seats in a theater offer the same perspective 🤔 You're thinking about cash flow real estate assets maybe?

The crypto miners are purchasing flare gas that's otherwise being burned off and using it to power generators to mine coins. The oil producers have a limit of how much flare gas they can burn per day. By selling the flare gas, they are able to get rid of it without exceeding their daily burn quota.

Thanks guys! As i listen to your amazing conversation i cant help but think of the Great Controversy between Good and evil or Christ and Satan. Satan's kingdom is all about deception, manipulation and force, whereas Christ's kingdom is based on love and choice. Sin is equivalent to centralized money printing and Bitcoin in principle reminds me of God's money if that were possible. Thanks again!

Exactly, crypto is better not because its on the internet and quick and efficient. Its precisely because no small group of humans can add fake money. That is the inability that locks us into something that keeps people's hard-earned work from being devalued and stops others from stealing their value. That way bitcoin has the attributs of a mathematical calculation on the internet and honest. Thats where its value comes from

Btw, the other 2/3 of the top 3 have David Hunter (contrarian) in 'em. I seriously felt like I was getting dumber while listening to Jeremy Grantham after hearing David Hunter a few times. I don’t like that mark moss is still using the phrase “money printing” when, at this point in his education, he should know that is not what is happening. In the U.S. there are no dollars being printed. M2 expansion is a result of bank lending.

Mark Moss, normally I like commentary but you need to get your history right if you want people to take you seriously. You say the Catholic Church killed million, but this is totally false. Governments did use religion as an excuse for gaining power but the Catholic Church instituted courts upon which the court systems are based today. These courts gave justice to those accused of crimes by government officials. The Church required a day in court while the governments gave no chance of proving innocence. Just as with any powerful organization, there were those who used the Churches power for evil gain, but this was always against the rules of the Church and thus rarely occured over it's 2000 year history. In fact, it was only after the reformation when large scale war and mass killing started to make it mark in Europe.
