What are these four colourful and funky Toyota Land Cruisers doing in Mali?
They turn up at my campsite and an interesting story unfolds....

For the Land Rover guys, could you give us a walk around of the vehicle? I’d be very interested if you would explain your setup and a bit of the history of your vehicles development into what it is today. Talk about repairs/parts failures and upgrades would be pretty interesting, especially coming from you having traveled extensively in it you would know what works and doesn’t work without the glossy brochures and slick salesmen.

@@roamingyak you’re welcome pal. Looking forward to the walk around as a fellow Defender driver (94 300tdi). Maybe make a series about it, like setting up and preparing an overland Land Rover/vehicle as there is quite a lot you could talk about. Maybe focus on a particular area or system of the fit out per video so you can go into detail (I like details/data and the rationale behind it), like the water system for example. Or the 12v system, the layout inside, the essential gear to carry the extra fuel capacity/milage and modifications to the vehicle, gauges (I noticed a different temperature gauge and an oil temperature gauge). Could talk about average engine/oil temperatures in different ambient temperatures for example and observations on how the vehicle runs in a hot climate, the duel rear Koni shocks and suspension in general. And tyres. I noticed you’ve had a few different sets of tyres on the vehicle so it would be interesting to hear what your experiences are with them. Your no nonsense approach to over landing is refreshing. If you haven’t already, check out KZbin Defender Mods and Travels. It’s a very sensible no bling approach to it. Cheers!

I like a bit of solitude when I'm on a trip, I would have been a bit apprehensive with the lot to. Glad it turned out to be a positive experience. Reminds me of a time in outback Australia when I saw the dust of a vehicle coming towards me and was a bit disappointed to share my wild camp, then i remembered I hadn't see a living sole in two days haha. Another great short Darrin, love them.
