I'm all for critique, but the negativity is unnecessary. Don't let that get you down! I have loved your work all along and have enjoyed the continued content. I too would prefer to see you out and about with the imagery more, as opposed to all the tutorials, but that's just me. I thought your set look great and you guys came up with some great shots! And a HUGE kudos to you for not only going over the final finished images but those too that you didn't care for. This day in age it's always the polished work that people share. We all make mistakes and come up with content we don't care for - that's how we learn! If there was anything I would like to see in these tutorials, it would be the histogram to go with these images. I am curious where you choose to place your exposure which is definitely a personal choice. Keep up the great work man and don't let that agency or anyone's negativity lessen your love for the work.

Thanks for the feedback! I just put out a BTS video with my review of the Godox Mount modifiers but right now I'm working on a strictly just BTS video from back in 2019 that I forgot to make. I'm also recording a shoot tomorrow and screen recording my camera and will be sure to get the histogram.

FYI - Agencies can act a lot like certain government agencies, to where they do disinformation or counter-intelligence operations. They're narcissistic and they really just want to control you. Don't listen to them whatever you do! Your work is great, and keep up the videos.

I don't know what blindfolds that agency rep was wearing, but she looks great! I would LOVE to see a video of how your shoots go. I appreciate it when you talk about how a pose isn't working for you so you make small adjustments like changing your angle or mixing in more of the ambient light

The image is lovely, just as all your work. The outfit is out of key - low key background and the skirt is high key. With that combination, the skirt grabs your eye and fights for attention for her faces. The image is stil lovely but that might have been what the agency was saying they just didn't have the right words. Keep on!

The opening shot of Cam? is very nice, my only cc would be to turn her head a tad bit towards the camera because you really do not want to cut the Left eye like that, have a small bit of skin there if you know what I mean. Some very nice shots of Ericka. Very pretty model.

Number one reason was eye-AF. At the time I switched which was the beginning of 2017 Canon didn't offer anything like it. Eye-AF helps so much with shallow apertures that I love.

When I’ve worked with a signed model, the agency expected the wardrobe to be fashion oriented...they expected me to provide it as well. The wardrobe your model is wearing looks more lifestyle oriented. I wonder if they expected more expensive looking wardrobe?

She didn't have a contract and never paid her. Very shady. Lots of more drama I could speak about, but for this instance they were just upset I didn't get permission to work with her.

As for the comment from the model's agency .......I presume they are a fashion agency ......and your shots have a definite portrait/glamour look to them, but they are certainly not editorial fashion in style . Fashion agencies can be a 'closed shop' and they are a world of their own (for better or worse)

I can't figure out how to get high-speed sync with my Sony a73 and my godox 400. I've used high-speed sync before with my 200 and it worked just fine and now when I'm trying with the 400 granite it's been several months later I'm not able to get high-speed sync to work any tips.

dear please make youtube videos about bts u always give lessons in your studio which is not interesting all other youtubers or photographers give lessons on the spot or make audio at studio but they give more bts or at the time of shooting. i think that is more interesting instead of studio lessons

How did you make this one on ISO 50 when you're using Canon 6D? I have the same unit but I only get ISO 100.

Canon lets you turn on a 50 ISO, titled as “L”. It’s an option you have to turn on in the menu system. After its enabled you can access it from the dials.

A small ‘typo’ - changing ss from 1/2000 to 1/500 is _increasing_ - not decreasing

Is it? Going to a slower shutter to me means decreasing the speed. That's how I meant it. I increased the ambient by decreasing the speed.

@@fjhphoto Sure - I got what you meant. But it's the exact opposite: you say you *reduce* the shutter-speed from 1/500th to 1/180th (6:25). That's *increasing* .

I think the white skirt is out of sync with the brown top, probably because the skirt is loose fit style where as the top is tight jeans tight pants /skirt vibe. its basically a small fashion clash. Just imagine her with a black tight skirt or tight pants . thats probably the problem they had. Be carefull you don`t let opinions of others shape your decisions and choices, they make who you are as a photographer and ultimately why clients hire you instead of someone else. Your instincts will never steer you wrong.

i have been following you for a long time and i love your work, but the framing and especially the model looking out of the frame is bad. you crop at weird places like ankle and knees, most of the time the back of her palm is facing the camera, her upper arm is pressed against herself looking like she is chubby, at 8:07 you were happy with that shot? Again, back of her palm is facing the camera. you are much better than this. keep up the good work.
