Oh yes, the icon. BTS started filling bags with awards with this album. The song is based on the novel Demian by Hermann Hesse (german poet). It's about temptation, all the art pieces are part of the story. Suga played that organ. There is not direct connect to BLack Swan, but all music and videos by BTS are connected, key pieces are found. This song is from the 'Wings' era. The albums is impressive with solo songs.

Quick explanation time because there is so much symbolism in this video that It would take a lot of writing to explain. The overall theme of this video and song is temptation, trying to avoid it and then giving in. You can see examples of it in the video with Jk licking the "candle wax" off of his finger or Jimin who was blindfolded finally taking off his blindfold. In the lyrics, an example is where Suga sings (and I don't remember the exact lyrics so bear w me) something about "drinking from the grail even though he knew it was poisoned." Second, V is playing the character if evil here/in the BTS storyline (called the BU for BTS Universe). The mini movie in the middle, shows his back with wings cut off symbolizing he is "fallen." Quick note to point out, and is a very big symbolic point in this video, is the painting Jin is looking at in the beginning. Its actually the battle between good and evil which symbolizes Jin's struggle with temptation. When he kisses the statue, that means he has fallen into the temptation. When V turns around and smirks, it shows that he's won the fight and they've all lost.

Meaning wise this song is very strong, you might not get it from the lyrics alone, but this is where the MV comes in. So BTS have their own universe inside their MVs and every album has a different kind of lead theme that ties into this bigger picture. This song in particular as well as the MV are influenced by a book called Damien ( by Herman Hesse) and the main theme is falling into temptation, overcomming it and awakening into a realization of self. Its from their 2016 Wings album in which year the youngest member Jungkook oficialy became an adult, so they expanded their previous concept of youth to represent them stepping into adulthood and leaving behind their child like innocence. The middle part is RM reading a line from the actual book. A lot of Greek mythology and religious references are present and every painting and sculpture has their story and part to play. That is the reason why this MV is more like art rather then music, cuz you really need to include and intertwine everything to get the full on experience if your not satisfied with a simple bop song. To point out some key details just to give u a better feel while not draging this out too much: -at the begining is Jin, the oldest member, looking at the paiting "The Fall of the Rebel Angels" and he has to choose between the good and evil -the other members are paired - one younger + one older member -the journey of temptation starts -they all are consumed one by one -at the end they have to accept the dark parts of themselves in order to be the new,aware self The best summery would be a quote by Friedrich Nietzsche (that they included in the MV): “You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.” A lot of BTS MVs are very complex, and the lyrics have a double meaning or much deeper then at first meets the eye. If you ever decide to get into an album reaction of theirs, just be warned that ethey give of the concept they want and do not care if it will be the best hit or not, cuz at the end of the day they want to tell us a story ,step by step e.g. Love Yourself:Her album, with fresh and light themed lyrics, cuz tthats what they wanted to potray, a few months later boom Love Yourself:Tear with a heavy concept,a lot of deeper lyrics, at the end Love Yourself:Answer the full picture and conclusion. PS. im writing this after the premiere which is 3AM my time, so i hope you get to this message >__

I really admire your honesty man! Not a lot of reactors have that courage 😁. Honestly, I miss the old BTS music, but I think their management is trying to cater to more diverse market. It is a good thing BTS are given the opportunity to have their solo songs to be able to express their own artistic side by producing or writing their own songs. Looking back, they have grown a lot as artists.
@sim65973 жыл бұрын
Many Army’s already pointed out that this MV is based on a book. Just to take it a notch further, the video is a slow progression of each member losing their innocence one by one. Jin (the guy staring at the painting of the fallen angels at the beginning of the video) is the one who is reluctant to lose his innocence and wants to try saving his friends. But he’s not able to. He watches as all of them cross over to the other side, symbolised through: RM consumes the wine. JK eats the wax drop. You can see the green smoke in their room after (green generally being the colour of poison? Maybe that’s why) Jimin closes his eyes or something. And Suga/J Hope also give up. V jumps off the balcony. Jin after seeing all this, gives up because he realises in order to be with his friends he can’t stay the way he is. Thus, he kisses the devil/fallen angel (which is a known way of making a deal in the underworld). There are A LOT of biblical & Greek mythological references here, like all the paintings, setting, the piano music & lyrics are symbolic of each member’s story of *giving into temptation* in the video. I’m not well versed in bible & it’s stories so I forgot the names. Anyhow Jin, invited by V (the guy who’s back shows wings that got burnt.. like Icarus maybe?) crosses over at last and that’s why his face starts cracking up. Everything at the end explodes and becomes more colourful as all the boys have left their innocence behind & know the ecstasy of being impulsive, lustful, evil and tempted. Basically the music video & the song itself tells us that we should love all versions of ourself. Good cannot exist without the bad. For us to know & understand ourselves completely we have to experience the dark side. Staying innocent doesn’t always mean staying good. As for your reaction, the first time I watched this video I was a bit apprehensive about it too. It was a LOT to take in haha. One day I just happened to come across it’s explanation video and I was genuinely intrigued. Hearing the detailed breakdown blew my goddamn brains away. Now I cannot look at this masterpiece any other way. Each time I see it, I feel so dumb at not having connected the dots. Thanks for your reaction nonetheless. Not sure if you’ll ever even read this comment but if you do, hope it helps you to understand this song & its video better :) Have a nice day !

There are still people who have the stereotype that BTS is "the idol of teenage girls" "that people who like K-POP". However, the fandom in reality is surprisingly wide. The most heard from those who fall in love with BTS is that "the lyrics are so good". Dynamite's follow-up song, Life Goes On, is a song that lets you feel the power of the loud reverberation that BTS gives you. The alternative sound is loose and comfortable, but there is a realistic feeling from the corona. The style of BTS, which they produce with their real thoughts, has continued from their debut to the present day. 80% of the lyrics are written by each member, and these 7 people are deeply involved in the production, including the sound. There are many people who think that BTS is a dance-based group, but I have been overwhelmed by the pain and depth of communication that I relate to. Generation, nationality, race, education, gender, place of origin, appearance, etc. Various prejudices and inferiority arising from discrimination.. Feelings that you shouldn't work hard, anxiety that always follows even if things are going well, the fact that what I believe can't last forever... . However, BTS is telling us to pay attention to loving all of their own, including their own mistakes. In particular, Blue & Gray, which was included in the album BE released in December of last year, is a song that gathered great sympathy on social media. I myself read the lyrics and burst into tears. Like this, I am writing an article about BTS now, but at the time they debuted in 2013, I was reluctant to take BTS. A friend who was fluent in Korean entertainment told me, "It's good for this group's significance." It's a hip-hop idol group.. What else is that? "I laughed, "I didn't even try to listen to the sound source. I liked East American hip-hop and R&B very much, so I thought, "Please don't use hip-hop." At the 2016 MAMA we saw together, I fell in love with a single performance video. From then on, I looked for their videos and sound sources, and quickly fell in love with BTS. However, the more I read the lyrics, the more I had to laugh at myself this time. This is because the lyrics contained a lot of prejudice and anger against patriarchalism that laughed at me like "Idol is hip-hop?" I was ashamed of myself when I realized that there was a prejudice in me: "Isn't it an idol? Is it K-pop?" In the lyrics of Not Today released in 2017 (the powerful choreography of this song is amazing), I heard the admirable Pastor Martin Luther King's quote, "If you can't fly, run if you can't, walk if you can't, gear up if you can't walk." I cried. They are the ones who choose to put these quotes in the lyrics. twitter.com/BtsJapanese/status/1372431970983051264?s=19

Basically, the entire BTS discography is their journey from being teens to adulthood. Blood, Sweat and Tears was from their album called Wings. In this album they tackled youth being exposed to temptations (greed, ambitions, vices).In fact, the intro track from this album is entitled “Boy Meets Evil” (which you guys should check out as well). From the MV, they referred to Icarus multiple times. In greek mythology, Icarus and his father built a wings from wax so they can escape the labyrinth. While flying, icarus’ father warned him to not fly too low because the seawater may get his wings wet, and to not fly too high coz the heat from the sun might destroy the wings. Icarus, being the ambitious kid that he is, ignored his father’s warning and flew too high to the sun which melted his wings and made him fall into the ocean. There’s also a reference to The Last Supper which depicts the betrayal of Judas, there’s also the apple on the table which is connected to Adam and Eve. And then Jin kissing the statue (or the “tempter” narrated by RM or the fallen angel) is him basically giving into the temptation. There’s too many symbolisms from this MV and its all mindblowing. Wings is actually my most favorite BTS album. The songs here are way too personal for the members and they have shown vulnerability which made me a bigger fan than I already was. (The entire album was solid but tracks that are too outstanding are Lie, First Love, Wings, Cypher 4, Stigma)

Hello there. This was a great song choice to introduce BTS to your brother. I appreciate your honesty. I would like to make a comment about the Grammy's. Even though it is based in the US, this awards show is behind the times regarding representing all musical genre's. That's why we now have Latin Grammy, CMA and others that includes artists that do not sing in English. The Grammy's used BTS to get ratings but it failed. BTS does not need them for clout or acceptance. They are one of the 'MOST' awarded groups in the world. There bag is full of "trophies" from other award shows internationally as well as Billboard Music awards and MTV's VMA. Every artist, new or not, wants to be recognized for their hard work but some deserving people are being snubbed. BTS are RIAA Certified Gold, and Double Platinum & Guinness Book of Records for most watched video in history. Dynamite was #1 on the HOT 100 for 3 weeks straight and did not win a Grammy. There latest album has been in the Global World Chart ever since it's release in the Top 5. BTS has been breaking records since their debut in 2013. America is slow to catch up thinking they are a typical boy band'.

Oh Blood Sweat & Tears ... what an Era! This song is part of the album "Wings". It's based on the novel "Demian" by Hermann Hesse and deals with themes such as loss of innocence, temptation and chaos. The genres of the song are Moombahton (a fusion genre of house music and reggaeton), trap and tropical house. The book tells the story of a young boy who struggles to find his new self-knowledge in the immoral world and is caught between good and evil, which is represented as the light and dark realms. There are connections between some MVs (the Bangtan Universe, BU, storyline), but this one doesn't connect with black swan. Also, in addition to this MV, "Wings" album also has this short films (kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXfOnIpolLqihLc&ab_channel=BTSBEINGBTS) + "boy meets evil" intro MV, which add to the theme of the book, and also to the storyline (BU). If you are also interested in knowing more about the meaning of things in the video (which is quite complex), this one is a good option: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6XPmHSLepusoMk&ab_channel=Don%27tWorryI%27mNotAfraid Sorry for the long comment, but there are so many interesting things to learn and know that it is very difficult to summarize it.

So this song is the title track of the Wings album, released in 2016. The overarching theme of this album was based on the book Damian by Hermann Hesse (German poet) about falling into temptation with lots of religious references to good and evil (devils, angels etc). Incredibly artistic, as you can see from this music video. The other songs on the album are equally amazingly artistic. Black Swan was released in 2020, part of the Map of the Soul: 7 album. The themes of that album was more introspective, based on Carl Jung's psychological concepts. It was essentially a diary of their 7 years together, exploring their mental states. So they're not related

This is based on a book Damien by Hesse; a story of a fallen angel. This is based on one's struggles with the temptations one faces entering adulthood. This is a very generic description. I'm kinda sad your description of ARMY seemed to be negative because that would describe a very small part of a wonderfully loving and accepting fandom. And I was sad your brothers only thoughts before were about more superficial anesthetics about bts/kpop. Nope, nothing to do with Black Swan. This is about growing up and temptation. Black Swan is about an artist losing his passion for his art and the fear of losing it permanently. This is based off of the book "Demian" and Black Swan is based on a quote by a famous choreographer, "A dancer dies twice, once when they have to stop dancing and this first death is the most painful."

This video is basically the peek of their story line. Army’s a bit of a mess right now. Actually no, we ARE a mess right now. We’ve been dealing with a lot of sht right now. Thanks for your feedback. I remember Blood, Sweat & Tears being one of the most iconic songs in kpop. The song took over the year it was released and their wings album was simply breathtaking. The wings era is an iconic one. Its the era that skyrocketed them which allowed them to get their first ever nomination and win in the BBMA’s. I can’t really tell you much about the storyline it would be too much to handle but the song is basically them talking about temptation which is the whole concept of wings era. The era is so confusing its insane. The whole WINGS album is inspired by Demian (a book). Jin kisses the statue the same way the character in the book did. I appreciate your honesty!

They’ve done like 15+ BTS related reaction videos with some they really liked from the BTS discography. It’s fine if this one wasn’t Fredo and his brother’s style 😂 Wonder what LC would have thought about this one tho 🤔

This video.... this video made me think like wtf?? People still tell stories with videos? You mean to tell me there are videos that had more then boody shaking, flaunting money and cars, and dancing??? Yup that's what I thought first and then the whole rabbit hole of the symbolism holy crap, BTS takes these things to a whole different level. When you watch the explanation videos for BTS videos ( if you haven'talready), trust and believe you will be shocked and then I think you may see and listen to BTS in a different way.

Have you reacted to armypedia yet? It’s from 2019, a 10 min long sit down performance of 3 of their early songs (2013-2014). It’s my favourite thing, esp bc I love it when the rap line shines... and those are some of my all time fave songs lol you’ll probably love it.

BTS is all about the concept, the lyrics and of course music. Not liking the music is perfectly fine, but the concept is great, based on the book Demian by Hermann Hess. Lots of symbolism from other sources as well, like Icarus floating in air after losing his wings. Fallen angel losing his wings. The winged statue is God Abraxus who symbolises good and bad, from book Demian. Basically all about rebellious youth losing innocence. Explanation video is a great help for this.

this!! i love how their reactions are honest but it’s hard listening to them talk about the toxic fans bc it seems like we’re the ones who have to make up for their ugly behavior but we didn’t do anything? we’ve stated so many times that it’s okay for them to make mistakes and that real army understand because we all went through that when we first started off, but repeating themselves in every single bts video??? yeah they mention about what the real army said or whatever but when they keep bringing it up it’s like making ME feel shitty for the words of that group of toxic fans and i just don’t vibe with that lmao :/
@clannadlover123 жыл бұрын
Stop dismissing what they have experienced. I saw it myself, it was a fact that there were SOME army's and still continuing that were attacking them in the comments on both youtube and patreon. They haven't experienced it with other fandoms yet. They don't think all army's are crazy and if you listened to what they said in this video and other BTS video's is that there are still a lot of army's who support them and give them love. And you can't just say other kpop fandoms are way worse. Maybe for you... but maybe they haven't experienced it yet. It's different experiences for everyone
@clannadlover123 жыл бұрын
@@jacky7525 you don't need to feel shitty if you didn't do anything. Reality is whenever something is generalized like for example when black people say white people are racist, it doesn't mean that they think literally every white person is racist. And it's the same thing with army's. They experienced a lot of mean people in the comments getting irritated that they made mistakes when it comes to the members. And it still keeps happening to them. But just don't associate yourself with the toxic fans simple. They already know it's the toxic army's. They aren't saying it's every single army. I'm an army and I don't associate myself with them so i'm not offended when they bring it up.

I just wanted to send some love and positivity. I enjoy this reaction and really appreciate your input. It's funny how you mentioned Silk Sonic being one of the closest qualities to k-pop - I haven't even thought about that. Cool observation. I know a lot of k-pop stars are vibing to Bruno Mars, so I definitely see the connection! It might not be your favorite, but I really recommend checking out some of Jimin's solos ("Serendipity" or "Lie" - the latter doesn't have a mv, so maybe a live performance). "Stigma" by V I think you'd really like! There's one particularly great live performance, but it's not available in Denmark, so I can't link it unfortunately.

bts has concept albums most of their discography is based on books blood sweat and tears is from the wins album which is based on damian's book by Herman hesse which incorporates concepts from psychoanalyst Carl Jung all the details of the video are there for a reason It is extensive but there are many videos where they explain the theories of their mv is the bts universe 😊 please react to louder than bombs 💜

Suga's shirt is a variation of a "Steampunk " military jacket ..... they are available online.. try Ebay perhaps... these jackets are throwbacks to the British revolutionary war type uniforms or the type seen on drummer boys/nutcracker suite soldiers.

The Japanese version of this song is dope too. Though there's a scene that connects to the past music videos (basically like every other BTS video only that one connects directly). I'm pretty sure you haven't reacted to Prologue and I Need You yet, right? A couple of years ago fans used to suggest reacting to BTS mvs' in order. Like from the first one till the recent one (or at least from HYYH era till now). All the MV's are connected and they have a story line. But there's a lot of deep sh*t going on, so sometimes the visuals and the song itself with the main message is definitely enough. So I'm just simply thinking out loud 😄 And there's the short films too... And even their dope award performances (that's some next level). Oh boy, guys, there's still so much to explore about BTS 😂 good luck, it'll be a long journey, but I'll be supporting you 😀💪

I am happy that you reacted to "Blood, Sweat & Tears" Fredo with your brother and discussed about the fashion on the MV, for me the BTS mv with the best fashion from all they've made, is ok if is not your cup of tea Fredo as long as you provide your feedback with respect since there is some people on YT that reacts and believe that been rude, mocking BTS is right when is not so thanks for the respect and to be objective, I can't wait for the next BTS reaction!

So. Blood Sweat and Tears. Not easy to grasp on the first watch. Not meant to be a terribly obvious story/concept with all the symbolism and whatnot. This music video is really a cumulation and sequel to the WINGS short films that showed each member individually, continuing the storyline that had been started in the HYYH era with songs like "I Need U", "On Stage Prologue" and "Run". Each member goes through a specific story (there is an actual plot and if you're actually interested in that, I would recommend reading the Webtoon because it shows the whole storyline, which is later continued in Fake Love and the Love Yourself Highlight Reel etc and even later in Persona, Shadow, Ego. It might be continued further with the next comeback). It's difficult to explain everything but I would recommend actually watching the BTS storyline music videos in order. There are also special "Notes" that BigHit releases that are part of the story (sort of like diary entries) like puzzle pieces. The Bangtan Universe is vast and complex and you might be satisfied with an explanation video by xCeleste if you don't want to delve in too deep. (I do think it's totally worth it though if you love storytelling - I do and I cried a lot because it was so sad and beautiful and yeah. I recommend it.) Anyway, thank you for reacting to this! Once again, I'm sorry for all the people who give you bullshit. ARMYs should not be saying stuff like this. Do what you want, decide however you like and never lose the love for the things you do. Sending love from Germany! You guys are awesome! :)
@armystacinator67323 жыл бұрын
The statue was actually a woman, lol. You really need to watch the explanation video for this one. It involves the dangers of temptation and losing your innocents. It is based off of the book of Demian and parts of Nietzsche and the Bible. I also think a couple of their best fashion videos your brother would like would have been Mic Drop, Danger, or Not Today. Thank you for the reaction, it was fun💜💜💜

oh for sure! I prefer, like, hip hop/r&b focused BTS over their pop stuff always, not to say that I don't bump those tracks in the car too though lol And that's totally cool ofc they have a huge discography so there's plenty of great material to explore! Thanks so much for reacting to this! I really hope you get to watch some of their dance practices :) And I noticed on Patreon someone asking for you guys to react to their version of COME BACK HOME. And like WOWW I cannot agree more, especially the live performance!! I hope you can find a version to react to. Anyway have a great day :)))
