A little fun fact about DNA was that it initially had a different melody that none of the boys liked and Jimin took the initiative to tell the producer and CEO that they didn't like it and had it changed to this version which then got BTS their first ever billboard entry and was their gateway to the West!

Thanks for this reaction! 😊 Listening to you break down the tracks as a producer isn't boring at all. It actually solidifies BTS' talent and vision. Also, BTS songs age quite well. I think apart from their sound, their messages are timeless so you can go back to their older songs and will still be relevant. Have you reacted to or listened to Fire yet? You should if you haven't. 💜

BTS' songs "taught" me to listen not only to the voice in a song, but to all the stuff that is going on behind . There is so much layering! And depending on what earphones you use, you sometimes get these 'oh,I never heard/noticed that sound (adlibs, instrument,...) before '! I love that !

Thank you very much Nathan! I love as others have mentioned you give your expertise, your knowledge to the making of this reaction. We can know we love something but not know really the why and you put that in. Also, I have often thought about Suga ( his producer side) when you do your thing, I am sure he would greatly respect your understanding (probably all the boys at this point with their added level of producing) and tell others how complex it is. I can also relate more to Sugas making of MV when he is frustrated. So again Thank you! It is fun to watch your level of respect for BTS. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

That’s one thing I love about the music- it grows with them through their discography but STILL is totally current. There are many clipped moments of their songs brought out onto tiktok and socials by people who don’t even know BTS (insane ik) that just clip them due to it sounding so neat. To my ears, I love their production value which is why I started being intrigued by them in the first place. The way the tracks are made and how they do the pre chorus’ verses, bridges and all of it just is layered well and MUSIC to my ears. I now go back to listen to some of the songs I used to listen to ( a lot of western artists ) and it’s not that the songs are totally horrible, some are still great songs, it’s just the production value is so much lower in the sound, or just so different - repeats over and over and not much imagination or switch ups. Can’t listen to them too much unless it’s while I’m working out and it rolls through on a playlist

It's interesting the way you explain and describe the music and it's production in a spatial way.. Music in 3D.. If we look at the DNA choreo, it's always using that in and out mouvements, like a heart, sometimes they are very closed, then the group expands... I learn a lot with your videos! GREAT RÉACTION !

Sir you can ramble about the mixing and the sound all you like. As well as critiquing because that’s what I’m personally here for. Real reactions and opinions. This song is timeless. Also a tiny small fact, before this song came out, their boss Bang PD wrote the melody and sent it to the boys which they were like nooo way, this is terrible. So RM told the company and the day it was time for jimin to record, bang pd asked jimin again if he didn’t like it, and while jimin was nervous to tell their boss no, he just straight up told him, yup it’s bad! so bang pd rewrote it and we got this DNA! so shout out to jimin for speaking up. It wouldnt sound this amazing if it wasn’t for him speaking up. 💗

@NathanWalters I love your videos and breakdowns, that is, with one exception - a general, blanket exception. As a fellow artist, I get irritated and uncomfortable when a professional like yourself feels pressure to apologize for "not reacting properly" or "not catering". I REALLY wish it wasn't like that. Art is subjective, period. You are a professional musician, recording artist, producer AND "Former Boy Band Member" for crying out loud! You can analyze, pause, rewind, eat a sandwich, rewind again, talk, not talk, sing, dance, check notes and chords on your piano, promote your favorite Russian tea and enlighten us about stacked tracks all you want because this is YOUR house! You are respectful and patient. You don't yell, rant or act disingenuous. You educate and entertain without editing - a major skill in and of itself! AND you have the coolest hair cut 😎 Thanks, just needed to get that irritant my chest. Happy Holidays to you and your family!! 💜

I have 2 favorite (Singer/Rapper) Producer-Reactor here on YT that I always depend on for additional informational insights for BTS music - Blake McLain for Pop (focuses more on the sound details, he explains it in a way that even non-music expert can understand and he spotted a lot of text paintings that BTS does w/o him knowing, he's always pretty spot on on noticing important details in the sound that connects w/ the lyrics even tho he has no idea) and Knox Hill for HipHop (focuses more on lyrics, this man is such a wordsmith and philosopher too, he's accurate in determining the things BTS wants to convey w/ their lyrics as if has also witnessed BTS alongside us and gives additional insights that could extend our own interpretation). These 2 are the best in giving reviews because aside from their skills & knowledge, they just purely analyzes the music devoid of prejudice regardless the artist of that music, I can see the excitement growing in every interesting detail that they discover, same people passionate for music. I'm glad that I can see that you're heading in the same direction as them, because honestly your first impression on me was not quite good. I hope you'll continue to react to BTS more relaxed but at the same time excited in discovering more about them and their music. 💜 Some of my fave BTS Songs that has text paintings, "134340", "Lie", "Jamais Vu", "Zero O'Clock", "Don't Leave Me".. "Whalien 52" uses a whale-like sound in the production, this song is dear to us for its relatable lyrics...
