Okay you guys I think i found the right translation of those lyrics from another reaction channel from their comments section. Credit goes to D h from @WhatchaGot2Say channel. This is copied verbatim: Here are the Korean rap lyrics which they updated to fit the current situation, for those people experiencing loss and hopefully seeing them/ARMY again one day: [RM's verse] (“because It’s a tribute to the legend Notorious B.I.G.… but also the lyrics and the vibe felt so right for us. All of you… it’s kind of like a message to all the ARMY around the world.” ) In the future, can't wait to see If you'll open up the gates for me Reminisce some time The night they took my chance Try to black it out, but it plays again When it's real feelings hard to conceal Can't imagine all the pain I feel Give anything to see half your face I know we're still living our lives after this [Suga 's verse] We're now used to our routines taken away but still can't give up living on We're more worn out because we don't know where this ends We're an island we made ourselves because we couldn't trust each other Hope an end comes for this tiring pandemic virus Negative thoughts can sometimes be a minus I knew it wasn't the end so I couldn't say bye When that day comes we'll say "hi" like nothing happened [J-hope's verse] I hate this world.our traces became memories I just empty my mind, trust without conditions Fill it every day with just loneliness not like the longing that encircles me We miss you, baby, whenever it may be, here's hoping we meet again, I promise

love it, love what BTS is doing. ever since the pandemic hit and they released their BE album, and with their songs like Dynamite, Permission To Dance, and now this rendition of I'll Be Missing You (w/ respect to the meaning behind the P. Daddy/Faith Evans version), BTS has been trying to do what they can to spread messages of healing, especially for those still struggling with the pandemic. BTS started out hip hop, it's at their core, i imagine that they no doubt are aware of what this song means to people. thanks so much for your reaction, perspective, and thoughtful words...loved that you took the time to look up and post the translations, too! peace & light to you💜

I feel like if BTS did the same exact rap verses especially and didn’t make it their own it would’ve been kind of disrespectful given who the original song was dedicated to. Their spin on it made it personal to them without changing the meaning of the original. I grew up in the same city as Notorious B.I.G and even if the original song was before my time he had such an influence that we still new all the words and could sing the lyrics to Biggie’s version years later and even if we were not african-american because that’s how much of an impact Biggie had. Also the Puff Daddy/Faith Evans version had a completely different spin/meaning than the song they sampled originally done by the Police “Every Breath You Take”. This version is by BTS and personalized to them and the situation during the pandemic. I really loved this performance.

Back during their debut year in 2013 when they were still teens BTS on their twitter account tweeted about notorious BIG and recommended his songs. They have been fans since they were young and even years later showing respect. Even recently Suga of BTS up until a few months ago had his playlist up on Spotify and had 2 Biggie songs on it. They’ve been recommending and introducing their fans across the globe to Biggie’s songs since they were young.

You gained a sub in me because of your honest reaction and review of the remixed, reimagined “I’ll Be Missing You” by BTS. Anyone old like me will tell you how I felt with the stalkerish Police original spin in 1983 and then the moving tribute to The Notorious B.I.G….by His wife, Faith Evans and Puffy in 1997. You didn’t have to be in deep in hip hop to feel that track. And that same vibe carries over now with BTS applying their own feelings of missing performing and us ARMYs. “Until the day we can all be together…” #missingyoubts

Oh yes, I had Shai’s album If I Ever Fall In Love on cassette !!!!!! BTS rap line are students of hip hop. If you listen to their song “Hip Hop Lover”, they rap about who inspired them. And they mention the OGs of hip hop. I love their rap songs because they pay homage to the old school rap sounds. From the classic record scratching to just the sound & feel of the 90’s hip hop style. A lot of new rappers don’t even know who the OGs are, or if they do, some will say disrespectful things about them.

I felt this. I am a huge BTS fan but I am from the Bronx and I am a huge hip hop fan and I know the culture. I was there when Biggie and Tupac were taken from us. Shit still hurts. I was nervous yet confident when I found out they were covering this song and I am so happy it was successful. I've watched a lot of reaction videos to this and yours is my favorite, by far. Thank you for taking the time to explain how we felt back then and still do feel about hip hop now. Thank you.

Yes, watching #BTS absolutely SLAY their set on BBC Radio 1's 'Live Lounge' with 3 Mega HITS made my DAY!!! THANKS truly BBC Radio1 for bringing to the world THE BRILLIANCE that is BTS ❤ BTS members performances were Truly DIAMOND & REALLY showed the UK & The World why they are the Biggest BEST Band in the WORLD❣ BUT for me? OMG! The He you mentioned at the start, IMPRESSIVE with the Faith Evans notes? The 'He' is Park JIMIN, my 100% BIAS. Man is KING, so to me Jimin in PARTICULAR SLAYED this cover of "I'll be Missing You" with His MAGIC MARVEL VOCALS -- AND that cry in "Somebody tell me why" gave me CHILLS! His Impeccable Ad Libs, Gorgeous Runs, Vibratos & Falsettos & HOW HE HELD THOSE NOTES -- JIMIN"s COMMAND of these gave me LIFE!!! FYI JIMIN's been trending all over the world - AND so many pointed out how Jimin NAILED Faith Evans part!

Thank you for sharing a bit of the history and the feelings of that time with us. I understand how much those artists and this song means to you. I'm glad you liked their cover. I love how they put their life in their music. BTS' music has a lot of heart which is why this many people gravitate to them. They actual did another cover long time ago. They did a cover to Born singer. There's a live performance video with the subtitles. I would recommend that because that was around the time they were starting out and the hate and push back they were receiving was too much but they were also working so hard to survive.

So glad I found your channel and so glad you gave that explanation on the feeling and reasons Puff and Faith created the song. I love BTS and have been with them since before they debuted and at first I was worried that they might be misunderstood covering this song but then the fact that they’re always sincere and they do their research (and they don’t just cover songs because it’s nice, the song means something to them), I knew they’d be understood by those who know the history of the song. The "Ioniq: I'm On It" is a promotional song for Hyundai. But you barely notice the car because the mv & song are so good; similar style as "Film Out" "Come Back Home" was released on July 4, 2017 as remake of Seo Taiji’s song "Come Back Home" for Seo Taiji 25th Anniversary Remake Project. “With Seoul” is a BTS song and film highlighting Seoul as a vacation spot. The original also shows them recording it. They have also done 3 other versions, including a “short” on 2020-09-11; a beautiful drone visual of Seoul (The Four Seasons of Seoul” on 2019-12-30, & an amazing drone visual mv on 2021-01-09. My personal favorite "other version" video is "DANGER (Mo-Blue-Mix) , featuring THANH". Thanh is an Australian-Vietnamese singer. This song has a R&B vibe with some great lyrics added by Thanh. There are loads of their other songs including some of my favorites: “Dionysus”, “Ma City”, “Truth Untold”, ”Outro: Tear”, “House of Cards”, “Lost”, “Dimple”, “Butterfly”, etc. and their solo, rapline, vocal line, short films, comeback trailers, etc. not included.

TaeJin stole the show for me. Tae isn't accustomed to singing those notes, and the way he makes it seem so easy vocally and visually made him stand out. As for Jin he's just the power house of BTS, amazing vocalist. For Jin, high notes like those he displayed don't come naturally like they do for Jimin, so props for Jin. Rappers just took this onto another level, love them all.

I just hopped back on KZbin and saw your video first. Let me start by saying, thank you for reacting to BTS and you are so cute. 😏 I know you said this wasn't your first time hearing them. Nonetheless, I appreciate you showing so much love to our boys. I was about 10 yrs old or so when Biggie passed, I definitely couldn't go anywhere without hearing this song play. I grew up listening to real hip-hop. Can we also give a shout-out to 112? I don't think many people have mentioned them being a part of this too. BTS specifically the rap line are huge (REAL) hip hop fans. They never shy away from who inspired them. I think with rappers nowadays, a lot of them don't pay homage to those that came before them. And let's be real, most of this rap music today is trash. BTS has revived my love for rap. The rap line are my favorite rappers now. BTS is the ONLY artist I listen to now. It's been 9 months, no days off of them. Their music is full of passion, truth, and positivity. I continue to get emotional seeing and hearing them do this cover. Their vocals are insane. I can't remember getting so emotional over how someone's voice sound. Like, the vocal line is AMAZING! Jimin! V! Jin! JK! Come on Bangtan! I recommend TONS MORE of BTS. Since you talked about hip hop, all the rappers have mixtapes. You must listen. Check these songs out as a starting point... "Joke" - RM "Agust D" - Agust D aka Suga "Blue Side" - J Hope "UGH!" "Ddaeng" "Cyphers 1-4"
