One of the songs that is not just a banger but also has such a deep idea that I think about it all the time. How we let online hate stifle the anger we need to take action against true injustice and things worthy of anger. One of the many brilliant social commentary songs that has truly made me look at the world differently. Also so incredible live although they’ve only performed it live a few times. 💜💜💜 The mentioning a life references a few idols who took their own lives after intense cyber bullying. Suga produced a song with IU (the biggest female soloist in Korea) called Eight which makes some subtle references (two of the characters in the Mv) to her having lost two of her closest friends both of whom were kpop stars who took their lives. It’s always said a lot to me that IU trusted him to make such a deeply personal song. BTs have been subjected to intense hate campaigns and the rapline has been vocal about calling out such systematic issues.

I've been seeing this name IU come up a lot. I will have to dive into eight to see what it's all about. Anger is a very strong tool if used correctly. Unfortunately it's a tool I've yet to even come close to mastering. But you know with songs like this I get so much closer! If I didn't fall down this rabbit hole, idk where I would be right now. Not as happy as I am right now I can tell you that much for free lol! It's truly sad, people that have lost their lives to bullshit, but the strength of the boys and this community silence all of that hate. It's a good reminder for us to stick up for the weak and also be aware to not become the hate ourselves. To be bigger and better than that💜💜💜

They're *all* amazing i my book and now is the time they need us the most. ON:E concert was to be an in-person and online concert (October 10th and 11th 2020) but about a week before had to be online only due to a covid surge in South Korea. Namjoon has recommended the book, The Gift of Anger, by Arun Gandhi, to understand Ugh! better. UGH! is one of my favorite songs.

First: absolutely amazing, informative reaction video. 🤌🤌🤌 This song is so much deeper than I thought, and I enjoyed the deeper look at the meaning. Anger can absolutely be a powerful catalyst for change, whether it's personal, or societal. But it can be so destructive, if misdirected, or misused. It's like they were saying, "go ahead and get angry! But get angry at the things that need to change, and use it to change them. Being spiteful, because you can, and spewing hate...just makes you a bully."

this song also has some connections to sugas collab with the solo singer IU her song eight i suggest reacting to the music video and explained by dkdktv ugh was released feb 2020 on bts map of the soul 7 album and eight was released may 2020 a few months later and many armys immediately understood why suga decided to collab for that specific song with the context of ugh and the context of bts history and sugas mental health struggles it all fit and made sense. please react to eight and eight explained :)

The person in the DKDKTV video is David Kim. That is his channel. You may see Danny Kim, his partner at this channel at one point in time, appear in other videos. They are not related. (Kim is one of the most common Korean surnames). Three members of BTS have ‘Kim’ as their last name and are not related.

You are the the only person since DKs video came out that I could tolerate 37:28 listening to reacting to this video because you genuinely wanted to learn and I can see it was sinking in and you did a fantastic job of comprehending the explanation. We could all learn a thing or two about our own behaviors from BTS in their music and in their personal examples of not generally being hypocrites with what they preach and how they act. This song is absolutely awesome. Def one of the first times I was blown away by BTS’s writing and message. Great reaction! Since I came into the fandom a bit late I’m not really sure what happened with dkdktv but I think one of them said something along the lines of “I like BTS but not for them, bc if I have more BTS I can make more content” something along those lines (I’m not sure if they’re talking abt these type of breakdown videos). I think this happened during a podcast with a host who (I think) was a K-pop journalist, and the host basically painted armys as obsessed teenage girls who treat BTS as their “boyfriends projects” (bc of how organized we are at streaming and buying their music to support them against western music and K-pop journalists like herself who downplay BTS’s impact and the corruption from the music industry) and one of them who was in this podcast agreed with that sentiment. I’m not really sure how deep that rabbit hole goes, we’ll need older armys who are in army Twitter to explain it better (which is not my case). But regardless, these breakdown videos are def very helpful, doolset is always a good option too.

I am not sure what DKDKTV episode you are talking about. David Kim (in this video) and Danny Kim both like BTS. They were accused of being clout chasers, only talking about BTS for the clicks. After awhile Danny would purposely piss people off, and would say things that would encourage the hate. David would try to rein Danny in--telling Danny that regular and newer viewers would start to think Danny was serious. David is now a host on Kpop Herald. Danny is in Canada, but I do not know what he is doing.

17:58 Well, DKDKTV wasn't exactly BTS friendly in the past so I can vividly imagine that they were the target of quite a bit of backlash, first from ARMY and later on from BTS antis. 😅 I'd say that the fandom has "pardoned" them over the years because of quality content like this video and quite a few ARMYs don't even know about the past issues at this point. I wasn't a part of the fandom back then but I was told about it from OG ARMYs. 💜

It's all about wasted anger. Anger can when directed correctly can change a situation, change the world in fact for the betterment of everyone. However when people get angry over silly thing/are hateful for no reason with angry vicious comments they do nothing but tear people down (bulllying) causing people to kill themselves. It doesn't do anything productive and when there's reason to be angry eg injustice, oppression, etc there's no energy left to use in a productive manner. It's a case of 'Anger Exhaustion' because the emotion of anger has become a useless emotion that changes nothing for the betterment of humanity.

Fun detail, when Ugh got out Army put memes about Ugh being a good song to fight with some one, and when the concert went out and we saw the rap line singing Ugh for the first time in a box ring Army lost it, specially when RM and Suga were pushing away each other, Army were saying that at any moment one of them was gonna trhow hands, but obviosly never happen, but till this day that perfomance has his own memes

It’s the first time they did the choreography for Run BTS because it was one of their new songs off of their Yet to Come Album. They ate up the choreography, especially V and Jungkook (in my humble opinion).

OMG, I'm 3 days late for this vid! Just got busy.. :) Now this vid is such a deeeeep dive. I learned most of the song's meaning because of this. So thanks again for that! Haters are just a bunch of losers who have a lot of time hating other people. Yes, their words have the power to destroy others but what they are not realizing is that they are also destroying themselves in the process.
