Buck 112 Ranger Custom Shop Lockback Pocket Knife

I just received mine a week ago. Opted for the 112 with nickel silver bolsters, mirror polished blade, and asked them to make my elk as white as possible. It looks almost like ivory on the edges! So shiny that I am reluctant to put it into my rotation, or subject it to any regular use! Truly a showpiece! I am a huge Buck fan, and I keep buying various shapes and sizes. I just hope that UPS delivers when my wife isn’t home!!

Thrifty! Wanted to get my comment in and say great Christmas knife! Awesome present for yourself. Looking forward to showing what Mrs. Frog got me for Christmas. I hope you have an awesome new year ahead of you. I might need to grab myself a custom 110 sometime soon. I'd love to have one with a drop point. I do have the og 110 but yes a custom would be awesome. That 112 looks incredible too. Love that handle and blade. Snaps right shut!

Not too fond of the reson for the existence of the Ranger but it is a cool knife. I love large knives so knife rules don't apply to frogs.

Can you get custom fixed blades? One of my first knives was a 119 special. Having a custom version of that with a steel upgrade and a cool handle material would be a dream.

@@FreedomFrog333 Yes Frog Frog you can get custom 119s but they are cool but not cheap. For some reason they dont have custom 117s. Though the heritage is available again.

That 112 is gorgeous. I ordered my first Buck custom. They were offering me 20% off and free shipping. Mine is not as nice as yours but i wanted something nicer than the standard 112 and i got it for not much more! I also opted for the brown sheath. Cause im a brown fan and all my other Bucks have black ones. I will be sure to share when It comes in! Wished they would offer a spear point in the 112 and also carbon steel blades again. Maybe someday! Thank you for sharing. Better start thinking about your next Christmas present!

I’ve seen guys do a similar build with nickel bolsters. I really think the brass was the was to go. It goes so well with the Elk inserts. Really really nice. I want to get myself a custom buck for Xmas this year. Similar to you, I always get myself a nice knife for Xmas every year. Coming from the modern folder crowd, that was usually in the hundreds of dollars range. A nice custom 110 this year would be a relief actually lol. I was a mirror polish 110 in nickel silver bolsters, pins and Blue Wood. I think that would look sick. Or Oak.

I got 2 of the 112's with drop points; I dont know why you didnt get yours? I also had the family name engraved on the blades with a laser. I did not pay for the high dollar steel or the Elk, but got 420 and the Ebony. One of mine is going back to BUCK, lousy QC on the cleaning after polishing left a lot of polishing compound inside the knife, gumming up the action really bad.

The drop point is not an option in the Custom Shop for the 112. They have it available as a prebuilt as you mention, which I was not interested in. I'm not opposed to cleaning out compound, it just requires a little time. Thanks, Orlos.

I own the Buck 110, 112, and the 55, all in the standard rosewood handle. All 3-knives cost around $70.00, which I thought was kinda strange. Nice custom Bucks….

i just got my custom 112 in today and it is beautiful. Such a solid quality knife. Only thing though is the close is very weak. Hardly any snap at all once the knife is say 2/3 closed, there little if any spring pulling it the rest of the way closed. Should I live with it or send it back? I paid over $200 for this knife. Thanks
