truly excellent series of videos.. I know these are about a year or more old but please do more of these if your time allows.. for example, how to understand and appropriately execute downwind, final etc...

Thanks, Cliff. I have a series in the works - just working to carve the time out. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!

Excellent 'lesson'. I like your style. Making learning 'realistic' as well as fun. Good video too!.. I come back here from time to time, for 'sustainment training'.. Well worth the 'revisit'! Onward and upwards!

These lessons are great!!! I just bought x-plane 11 and only have a few hours of flying it under my belt but after watching some of the lessons you have provided on navigation plus hearing some of your personal preferences based on your experience in the real world, it has enhanced the whole x-plane sim experience for me. I'm actually learning a lot more than I expected at my beginner level to flight training. Can't wait to view the rest of the lessons!!! THANK YOU for doing these!!!

Great video. I think there was a calculation error in the time it took to reach AXQ. Ground speed 131 knots translates to 150.75 mph. So the calculated time is closer to 10 minutes than 12.

enjoyed watching, nice to see a video on basic navigation ,electronics on planes are a good, but still need to know the basics .I do a lot of practice flying on x plane at Augusta, hope to move there one day ( in the uk ,my girl is there) look forward to watching the rest of the series in the coming few days.
@clayviation7 жыл бұрын
Mark Ashton thanks for keeping up with the series! If you move to Augusta, be sure to check out the fleet at Thomson (KHQU). It's right outside of the city and that's Clayviation headquarters. Maybe we'll fly together someday!

I very much appreciated and enjoyed this video. As a former marine navigator (but X-plane newbie) I could relate to the DR. Thank you very much.

Welcome to X-Plane, John! Thank you for your service in the Marines!

Thanks for the lesson. For VFR DR I can't help recommending AlpilotX's "Tree Lines and Farms" and stuff from simHeaven. A great help in visual recognition, and adds realism, too. Moreover it's free and doesn't kill the framerate.

Great heads up, Alexey! I'll check those out.

what settings are you at for the yoke? i find their c172 model way too sensative with my yoke. I usually practice traffic patterns and not long flights, can ever barely get it to stabilize...
@clayviation7 жыл бұрын
I've had to adjust the rudder values so they aren't as sensitive. I normally fly with the yaw stability augmentation up a bit.

is there a place to learn flying x place from a to z? The included tutorials are extremely brief.
@clayviation4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend an actual online ground school for real world flight training. That’s where you’ll find the best A-Z training that you can then apply to X-Plane. You might check out MZeroA or Angle of Attack.

I'm always curious what xplane11 fans wind up purchasing in the way of payware aircraft? What's in your hangers?☺😊😀😁😂

To bad no close up shots on sectional with outlines of checkpoints and for god sake cut out that friggin lip smacking it is so darn annoying I think I’ll be going to other vids on this I just can’t handle the lip smacking and no logical step by step procedure just” oh we’ll talk about that later in video “ I hope you understand my criticism otherwise your doing a fair job of it Wudda been nice if you explained why you chose +7 for magnetic when no deviation was needed according to compass
