Excellent tutorial. I just started the Xplane11 and this is what I needed to operate the G1000. I'm new to in home flight simulators and finding good instructors has been a challenge. Your best talent is that you do not assume that your "students" know the details. Now if I could just figure out how to incorporate FltplanGo into Xplane11.

I got the FltPlnGo working. Here's a tip I purchased a IFR enroute low alt chart. It allows me to see where intersections are around the airports that I want to fly around. It just gives me the "big picture" of a flight plan I want to fly. It also makes it easier to see where STARS and Arrivals are in relation to where you going. I know, I'm old school.

I see it’s a couple of years since you’ve updated the channel, so I’m probably a little late with my subscription. :) None the less I wanted to let you know that of the G1000 videos I’ve seen, as someone who struggles with the complex, this one was hands down the best and most useful for me. I just bought the thandra Quest Kodiak. She uses the g1000. I was setting up a flight plan but couldn't figure out how to edit the SID I had selected, as it had me on a vector and I was offline and just wanted to go direct to the first waypoint. I pressed a bunch of buttons and couldn't figure it out. Thanks so much

Great job! In the future, I'd like to hear real or simulated ATC commands and in slow motion, see the responding adjustment on the display using the appropriate knobs and buttons. Very good intro though - very comprehensive for the first look. That said, are their any major changes with the upgraded NXi generation? I'd like to see the differences, if that is possible.

Your videos are among the best for instructional help with flight simulator equipment. Hope you can take time to answer this problem I have and issue lately using x plane 11. Using default Cirrus SF50, Cessna Skyhawk both with Garmin 1000 control panel flying into San Jose,Ca ksjc a 4000ft alt is automatically entered when using vnav for release. All flights are from south and landing on ils 30l ksjc, aircraft will not release effectively to enable ap to pick up glide slope, diamond appears at bottom of indicator when it finally shows, I can fudge it by pushing control stick down forcing aircraft to alt about 2000ft or less releasing it and as it regains alt diamond will slide upward past halfway line and pickup gs. this in no fun there must be a better way to solve this issue. Will you offer comments on this topic. Thanks

It seems as Laminar research have modeled the GDU 1040 display as PFD and the GDU 1043 as MFD, a very common combination. But for the pop-up they only use the GDU 1043. Not so much a bug, maybe the wanted to save time?

Regarding the G1000. Suppose I create a flight plan to KBOS. I Include in my plan a few waypoints that will line me up with the current active RW. An hour into my flight I check in with ATIS at KBOS and the active RW has been changed. Can you share how I can manage all the changes enroute to alter my earlier flight plan. Thank you.
