Kind of crazy how one wild man busting up firewood with old axe heads and vintage yellow powersaws brought this whole community together. A community of the most helpful and good people. I wouldn't know of ironhorse, walkers saw shop, killinger, bayou country power saws, and the Tinman. all owe Buckin' a thank you.

Now that's a real saw friends!!! Ol' Mr. McCulloch was way ahead of the times with his power saws! It's a shame we don't have that breed of power saws in todays Modern saw world. Imagine an Mtronic style Or Fuel Injected super! Oh man! Still to this day.... the ol' Macs and Pioneer's are of my favorite ol' power saws to run. On a side note, there's nobody better out there than ol' @Buckin' Billy Ray Smith to have, use, store, and cherish that Super Pro 70..... With his 40 other McCulloch's Enjoy it Buckin'! Nice work @Tinman's Saws 👍👍

I just watched your series on porting. I watched a video yesterday about "square filing" a chain. The guys were cutting almost 30" wood. They took a new Oregon chain on a 660 Westcoast saw and made a cut of almost 29 seconds. Then they hand filed it with a guide and a circular file and dropped it to around 20 seconds. Then they removed the guide and filed out the gullets like Buckin does, and dropped down to 18 seconds. Finally, Jed square filed it with a "triangular" file and dropped it below 15 seconds. That's crazy performance over a brand new chain, and probably as big of an improvement as a stock saw vs ported saw. I can provide a link if you want. Thanks for your videos and sharing your knowledge.

This is a great example of how some imagination and know how can get a guy worked around no available parts. Way to show us what's up, Tinman!

Sounds good I can't wait to see the 670 in some wood, the throttle response on that is night and day from the way it was before being ported. Tinman u do good work, really enjoy ur channel.

That old McCulloch is playing rock’n’roll! 👍 Funny note... Mercury outboard engines got pretty much the same port design as those old yellow powersaws. 🤔 I got a few of those, think I’m gonna use a little bit of your ideas and port one... 😜 Nice work, buddy! 🇸🇪

The sound of those Macs even at idle brings back memories. No sound like it. I remember my dad’s saw which I still have. Doesn’t run very well. Maybe someday.

Great job on that saw!! And you’re right it could be just a touch louder too!! Lol
@tinmanssaws3 жыл бұрын
Its loud for sure, maybe louder then the hotrod homelite??
@timgordon61603 жыл бұрын
Hmmm🤔 good question you’ll have to make a comparison video and see which one is the winner!! Lol Either way loud saws are cool!! neighbours may not like it at 10pm when you’re trying to tune the carb, not that I’ve ever done that 🙄🤣 Take care buddy, cya on the next one!!
@ozdatman3 жыл бұрын
For a 50cc saw, unless you changed the barrel, that thing is awesome. It even gives away 8cc to your Homelite you built. Well done, would like to see the results of you sinking your teeth into a bigger Mac.
@tonyalto10143 жыл бұрын
These 70's are 50.8mm bore. 4.3 cubic inch displacement (70.46 cubic centimeters)
@tinmanssaws3 жыл бұрын
Yep shes 70cc.
@tonyalto10143 жыл бұрын
Looks like you put an edge on those teeth. That old saw can cut. I like the way it pulls itself back to revving when you dog it into the wood. A lot of porters go too far and lose that torque. Well done sir!
@tinmanssaws3 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy, this saw pulls pretty hard for sure.

Seems i remember points and cap ignition had fat blue spark instead of the thin white spark i see now
@joepwillems3 жыл бұрын
With doing some work on the points/ignition, do you mean that would be the reason it didn't go back to idle normal? Nice build!💪🏻👍🏻
@tinmanssaws3 жыл бұрын
Yeah this one is running well but i think it needs some more tuning.

I'm curious what you think the power % is gained over stock? I just brought a Pro Mac 10-10 home and cut up 2 24" maples. I was very surprised with the power. It was pulling a 24" bar with ease.
@andreawhalen41422 жыл бұрын
Mac's and the pioneers had the snort bro, you clap out a mac and even a new saw gets whooped.
