I just bought the 2024 version of Yaris Cross 116 hp version. In my opinion, the extra 14hp version is a big waste of money. 14 hp is like 0,5 sec differences which is not noticabe at all. The "Noise" which everyone is talking about is just wierd. I have extremely sharp ears and those "Noise" doesnt bother me at all. You know, back in the days when you drive manual cars, you were supposed to listen to the engine when shifting gears? People really really got spoiled, seriously. What a tiny details to complain on. In general, the yaris cross is probably the most bang for the bucks you can get and Im super happy about it!
@BuckleUpShow3 ай бұрын
It's the change in torque and response that makes the difference, it's also probably the same margin of difference between a 1.6 and a 1.8 20 years ago, which would have incurred a similar difference in price but also been more to run, whereas now you can have a bit more power with no running cost downsides
@briank101012 ай бұрын
People always think it's the peak hp value that determines how much you get pushed back in the seat, but it's the 30% increase in torque that pushes you back 30% more into the seat when you hit the gas. It's like it got a 30% bigger engine.
@StayReal022 ай бұрын
@@briank10101 and @buckleupshow, both cars have exactly the SAME engine max torque at 120 @ 3600 - 4800. And the difference between powertrain max torque is barely.. It's not worth 3k euros extra. Waste of money through the window!

Now, after nearly 40 Hours of educating myself in the topic of modern cars and what is available right now, i need to buy a new car. This is the first time i ever look into this. Good review. I ordered mine in the Netherlands, I am Dutch. The mpg challenge was fun, yet, gives a bit of a one-sided view now. Noise reduction should also be tested when you accelerate more fiercely. Glad you are positive. The 12V battery should also be better, overcoming starting problems in 2021 version.

I would buy one these, but if like me you don't drive the car every day, and do mainly short local journeys, you would probably need to buy a solar panel trickle charger otherwise the 12v battery will go flat and you wont be able to start the car. It's a well known problem with some Hybrids and EV's that never seems to get mentioned in these reviews.

We're aware, we're not in the business of making car reviews for people who barely drive their cars though. If your use case is such that you'd always be worried about a flat battery in this you should probably just buy a banger for 2k cause you're never going to be more than walking distance from home anyway

@@BuckleUpShow lol. What about if you travel and go on holidays and leave your car parked at the airport.
