What a fabulous teacher! Perfect length lessons, everything broken down into clear and easy to follow instructions. I’ve had my Handpan two days and I’m making music already thanks to you! 🙏 TYSM for these videos 😊

I've been a drummer all my life, but was never able to make a handpan sound good. My technique improved tremendously after just two lessons here.

I think Your lessons are the best so far in history...they teach not "stiff" rules but how to play with "heart"...how to prepare for improvistaion...how to travel with handpan through the universe of sound. Thank You in the name of all handpan players...I hope for more ...

I really appreciate your bite-sized lessons. While it's easy enough to play around on the handpan and make pretty sounds, there's SO much more to it!! Your teaching method is helping me to build solid skills and better music in a more manageable manner. Thank you!

Very good videos, I’m used to music instruments and this is helping a lot for the technique. Once I’ll be done watching all of them, I’ll restart from the 1st to see the progress I made thanks to you

I love listening to handpan music, but I always thought that it must be terribly difficult to learn to do. You've broken it down into little steps that show how easy it actually is, allowing learners to become more proficient, and more free to follow their own way around the instrument. Well done.

Hi mate.Those are great leassons. Really great. Thank you. Can you perhaps share which microphone are you using for recording?

it's actually a Blue Mikey that plugs into your iPhone

@@DavidUrbanHandpan Aha ok. Great, thank you very much. Based on your experience is it big difference in audio when recording only with phone versus phone + blue mikey?
@DavidUrbanHandpan3 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickRider it's not huge, but it's noticeable. At least when comparing with an iPhone 7's own mic. I haven't compared it with Iphone 11 that i have now. That would be a good idea for a new video perhaps...

@@DavidUrbanHandpan Aha ok. Thank you very much for info. Yes, comparisons of Iphone 7 vs 11 vs with Blue Mikey as many people are stugeling to record with good audio..

Are you using a hand pan stand? Can you make any suggestions? And does it matter how the handspan sits in front of you? The orientation of the notes is what I'm asking about...
@DavidUrbanHandpan6 жыл бұрын
I cover this a bit in lesson 14. But either you have the deepest note in the center towards you, or the 2 deepest notes symmetricaly. Try both and see what works. And starting out, it makes sense to use it in your lap (no stand), as this is the best for ergonomics. Thats how they are designed to be played.

Its too expensive.I wanted to buy one for my daughter to practice and learn.I have just saw the prices😳 it is tooooo expensive. I should pay my 6 months income( I am a teacher) to buy one simple hangdrum.😢damn ....
@TheJohnnyHarrison6 жыл бұрын
I purchased my drum off luna drums. They are far cheaper than traditional handpans, yet mine has still provided me with the opportunity to enjoy and explore the powerful sounds that can be performed with these instruments :)
@mahnaz92176 жыл бұрын
John Harrison nice to you. So you enjoy your drum.how much is it?I think even luna ones are expensive.also in my country you wont find cheaper ones.☺i wish few years later the drum get do popular so its production will increase and the drums will get cheaper. Here the drum is at least 7 times expensive than an electronic good guitar.
