I noticed a few children with their backpacks on...ready to go to school...following their participation in morning alms. I can see that a virtue like generosity.... is genuinely modelled by their families & community first...prior to attending a formal school setting. Dāna and mettā teachings...humbly passed on to their children...on the side of a road. Beautiful.

My heart got filled with joy, happiness & compassion.. Feeling so nice to see small kids offering to monks. Their eyes were curious to watch all these as if it's a big ceremony for them.. They are so fortunate to be witness of such alms round & offering dana. I observed one thing in me whenever I offer dana, I feel my mind & aura gets expanded... So much peace arises in me & sort of tremendous satisfaction & calm in me.. Metta 🙏🌷

Live in humility, be generous, kind, compassionate and merciful, no need to be a Buddhist as it is not a dogma. I am an ex Christian finding solace in Buddha Dhamma Buddhism is not a tag or a title and no one is watching over your shoulders. If you want to give, just open all your doors, hearts and minds and give, if you have nothing left just live in humility, then you will be the most joyous, compassionate soul ever. Hi Nick, Your videos are so informative and inspiring, I can't express my gratitude enough! :) I'm in a quandary, however. I've been recently married, a little over 2 months (court marriage, we haven't lived together much and are in different countries right now) and I want to become a monk and join a monastery. I have been spiritually inclined since childhood, but only recently have I come to learn about Buddha's teachings in detail (I was born a Hindu). Nick, I have a question for you. This people that Beverly have for themself, why do they have to offer to the monks, why do the monks offer to them? What do they get back from. The monks meditating all day, it would be nice that monks go to work to provide their own food, no? I like the Buddhist philosophy beside that and that women Can't practice neither.

The relationship with monks and lay community is symbiotic. The key community support monks via worldly needs and monks support lay community via spiritual needs ☺️
