I feel as if all the hot air in my head has been let out after listening to Ajahn Brahm tonight. I've been feeling so utterly tired lately, so tired I wanted to just give up, lay down and never get back up. So pull up this video, and half way through, I began feeling light and noticing I can breath again.

Today I was exhausted because if worry and hearing so much chattering. After meditation, I recovered. What ajahn Brahm said goes beyond tired ness of my kind. In first Johnna, threw are directed thought, after a while it is tiredness ,and that is the time the heart knows to let thought go and go into the second Johnna.

I also go into seclusion ... At least 24 hours of not seeing anyone. Sometimes, I'll sleep for 48 hours, getting up only to wash, brush or to take a toilet break. I've also reduce my work hours. Stop listening to all the product advertisements. Remember, this is the world. Learn to go against it .... against the grain like Buddha did.

I too try to discipline myself and insist on choosing one day, 24 hour period during which I manage to totally detach from the world around me; e.g computers, cell phones, headlines in any form, so that I cam just to be a "being" versus a "doing" person. Indeed I am refreshed and rewarded each time. Nice to hear from someone who seems to share my views.

There is some truth to what he says but if everyone would follow his advice, there would be no roads, no bridges, and certainly nothing from modern day. Would that be better? maybe. But if we would follow his (monk) advice there would also be no monks very soon because their life is (from what I've heard) dependent on productivity (food) of other people. And lastly, I am certain that there would be very soon no people at all, since reproduction and evolution doesn't particularly agree with just being. Or 'doing' without any thinking/planning.l about the doing itself. So yeah, a bit unpractical advice. Nice to listen to but if you don't wanna become a monk, not really applicable. Or am I wrong?
@ns1extreme Жыл бұрын
Very soon there will be no people because we are doing too much and destroying the planet. Building things just for the sake of building isn't a good long term plan. If everyone lived simple lives like monks there would be enough food and resources for everyone.
